414 <br /> <br />PUBLIC <br /> <br />OTHER BUSINESS <br /> <br /> The motion to limit the restriction to residential zones was <br /> unanimously approved. <br /> <br /> Mr.. Buck stated that he had listened to tapes of the public <br /> hearing of the previous meeting and that the changes addressed the <br /> concerns expressed. Mr. Buck added that while existing situations <br /> will not be eliminated, a stabilization would result. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Gleason moved to amend the ordinance by the inclusion of <br /> <br /> (k) under Section 31-28, (b) under Section 31-265.1, and the grand- <br /> father clause drafted by Mr. Wiley. Dr. Gunter seconded the motion <br /> and the ordinance was unanimously amended. <br /> <br /> The ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDAIN <br /> <br />SECTIONS 31~3, 31-27 AND 31-28, AS AMENDED, OF THE CODE OF THE CITY <br />OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, AND TO ADD SECTIONS 31-28.1 AND 31-265.1 <br />RELATING TO USES ALLOWED BY RIGHT AND BY SPECIAL PERMIT IN <br />RESIDENTIAL DISTRICTS, AND TO THE APPLICABILITY OF THE DEFINITION OF <br />"FAMILY" UNDER THE CITY ZONING ORDINANCE, AND PROVIDING FOR THE <br />CONTINUATION OF CERTAIN USES," as amended, was approved by the following <br />vote. Ayes: Mr. Barnes, Mr. Buck, Mrs. Gleason, Dr. Gunter, Dr. Hail. <br />Noes: None. <br /> <br /> Dr. Gunter stated that it was helpful to have the students parti- <br />cipate and invited their future involvement.. Dr. Gunter stated that <br />she felt the ordinance affirmed the need to preserve neighborhoods and <br />also was sensitive to the needs of the developers.
