APPROPRIATION: <br /> <br />CDBG <br />REPROGRAM~4ING <br /> <br />APPROPRI'ATION: <br />$ o,oo0 <br /> <br /> Mr. O'Connell stated this appropriation reflected changes in accounting. <br /> <br />On motion by Dr, Hall, seconded by Dr. Gunter, the CDBG Reprogramming <br />appropriation was offered and carried over to the next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br /> Mr. O'Connell stated that funds had been received by the Housing <br /> <br />RENTAL Authority from the State for the Rental Rehabilitation Program <br />REHABILITATION ' ' <br />PROGRAM Mr. Huja stated that the Housing Authority would supervise the use of <br /> <br />the funds. <br /> <br /> On motion by Dr. Hall, seconded by Dr. Gunter, the $50,-000 appropriation <br />for the Rental Rehabilitation Program was offered and carried over to the <br />next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: Mr. O'Connell stated, this appropriation would fund the first phase of the <br />$6,571 - · <br />TRANSIT parking-study to review the parking nee'ds of downtown and the Corner area and <br />PARKING STUDY <br /> would be completed by late June. <br /> <br /> On motion by Dr. Gunter, seconded by Dr. Hall, the $6,571 appropriation <br />for the Transit Parking Study was offered and carried over to the next <br />meeting for consideration. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION: <br /> <br />AUTHORIZING <br />APPLICATION <br />FOR STATE <br />TRANSPORTA- <br />TION GRANTS <br /> <br /> Mr. Huj.a stated that should the funds for Phase I be insufficient, <br />Counci.1 may be asked for additional funds. <br /> <br /> Mr. O'Connell stated that these resolution would authorize application <br />to the State for transportation grants. <br /> <br />On motion by Mr. Barnes, seconded b'y Dr. Hall, the two resolutions <br /> <br />authorizing applications for State Transportation Grants was unanimously <br />approve.d by Council. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, <br />that the City Manager ~s authorized, for and on behalf of the City, to <br />execute and file an application to the Virginia Department of Highways and <br />Transportation, Commonwealth of Virginia (VDH&T), for a grant o'f transportation <br />special revenues under Chapter 684, Item 644 of the 1982 Acts of the General <br />Assembly as amended (qThe 1982 Appropriations Act"); in the amount of <br />$331,513.00 for fiscal year commencing July l, 1985, to defray the public <br />transportation fuels, lubricants, tires, and maintenance parts and supplies <br />expenses of the City of Charlottesville; to accept from VDH&T grants ~n such <br />amount as may be awarded; to execute th~ necessary grant agreement, and to <br />authorize the Transit Manager to furnish to VDH&T such documents and Other <br />information as may be required for proce.ssing the grant request. <br /> <br /> In connection with such grant application the Council certifies that <br />the funds will be used in accordance with the requirements of the 1982 <br />Appropriations Act, as amended, and only for the purposes specified therein; <br />that the City wilt provide matching funds in the 95% State and 5% City ratio <br />as required in the Act; that the record of receipts and expenditures of funds <br />granted the City as authorized in the Act may be subject to audit by VDH&T <br />and by the State Auditor of Public Accounts. <br /> <br />and <br /> <br /> BE-IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, <br />that the City Manager is authoriZed, for and on behalf of the City, to' <br />execute and file~an application to the Virginia Department of Highways and <br />Transportation, Commonwealth of Virginia (VDH&T), for a grant of transportation <br />special revenues under Chapter 684, Item 644 Of the 1982 Acts Of the General <br />Assembly as amended ("The 1982 Appropriations Act"); in the amount of $58,900.00 <br />for fiscal year commencing July 1, 1985, to defray the public transportation <br />Capital expenses Of the City of Charlottesville; to accept from VDH&T .grants <br />in such amount as may be awarded; to execute the necessary grant agreements; <br />and to authorize the Transit~Manager to furnish to VDH&T such documents and <br />other information a's may be required for processing the grant request. <br /> <br /> In connection with such grant, application the CounCil certifies that the <br />funds will-be used in accordance with the requirements of the 1982 Appropriations <br />Act, as amended, and'only for the purposes specified therein; that the City <br />will provide matching funds in the 95% State and 5% City ratio as required in <br />the Act; that the. record of receipts and expenditures of funds granted the <br />City as authorized in the Act may be subject to audit by VDH&T and by the <br />State Auditor of Public Accounts. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION: <br /> <br />REQUESTING <br />HIGHWAY <br />DEPARTMENT <br />TO INITIATE <br />A STUDY RE: <br />9th AND 10TH <br />STREET RE- <br />ALIGNMENT <br /> <br /> Mr. O'Connell stated.that the resolution would request the Highway <br />Department to initiate a study of 9th and 10th Street realignment and also <br />included a.request to have the realignment coincide with the University of <br />Virginia replacement hospital. <br /> <br /> <br />
