<br />meeting of the CounCil on April 9, 1979, was adopted by the following
<br />recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. Albro, Mr. Brunton, Mr. Buck, Mr. Gatewood
<br />and Mrs. O'Brien. Noes: None.

<br /> An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDAIN SECTION
<br />15-14 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, RELATING TO
<br />PRORATION OF BUSINESS LICENSES," was offered by Mrs. O'Brien, seconded
<br />by Mr. Albro and carried over to the next meeting for consideration.

<br /> An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDAIN SECTION
<br />10-58, AS AMENDED, OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976,
<br />RELATING TO LICENSE FEES IMPOSED ON VEHICLES FOR HIRE OR FOR RENT,"
<br />was offered by Mr. Buck, seconded by Mr. Albro and carried over to the
<br />next meeting for consideration.

<br /> The City Manager advised the Council that he has received a
<br />proposal from R. E. Lee and Son to repair the roof on the Circuit Court
<br />House for a sum of $7,449. He stated that the other contractor who was
<br />contacted by the Mayor has not submitted a bid and recommended the
<br />acceptance of this bid. He stated that in order to the roof repairs,
<br />painting and plaster repairs an additional appropriation of $4,500
<br />would need to~b~e~.made. On motion by Mr. Albro, seconded by Mr. Buck
<br />the following resolution was offered and carried over to a__special
<br />meeting on April 19, 1979 for consideration.
<br />
<br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville,
<br />Virginia, that the additional sum of $4,500.00 is hereby appropriated
<br />from the unappropriated balance of the Capital Improvements Fund to
<br />expenditure account 05-00670 for the repair of the cupola and roof
<br />of the City circuit courthouse;~ and -
<br />
<br /> BE IT FURTHER RE~;OLVED that the Council finds and declares,
<br />pursuant to Section 2.1-349 2)(ii), as amended, of the Code of
<br />Virginia, that it is not thin, public interest to contract for such
<br />repairs by receipt of seale~ competitive bids.
<br />
<br /> A motion by Mrs. O'BrJ~n, seconded by Mr. Albro that Council meet
<br />in executive session at 5:30 p.m. on April 17, 1979 to discuss a matter
<br />exempted by Section 2.1-344~a)(1) of the Virginia Freedom of Information
<br />Act, was adopted by the following! recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. Albro, Mr.
<br /> Noes: None.
