An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REORDAINING THE ORDINANCE ADOPTED NOVEMBER 20, 1978, WHICH AUTHORIZED THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A DEED CONVEYING CITY OWNED PROPERTY ON UNOPENED GLENN AVENUE," which was offered at the meeting of the Council on April 2, 1979, was adopted by the following recorded vote. An ordinance entCtled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 21 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, AS AMENDED, BY ADDING AN ARTICLE III CONTAINING SECTIONS 21-14 THROUGH 21-16 PROVIDING FOR EMPLOYMENT OF OFF-DUTY POLICE OFFICERS AND DEPUTY SHERIFFS," which was offered at the meeting of the Council on April 2, 1979, was adopted by the following recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. Albro, Mr. Brunton, Mr. Buck, Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. 0'Brien. Noes: None. The City Attorney advised the Council that the ordinance authorizing the exchange of property with the University of Virginia has been rewritten, since-the first reading. Since the attorney for the University had indicated that if they were to convey additional right-of-way for Lee Street in fee simple it would have to be approved b~ the Governor and the University would prefer to convey to the City only a perpetual easement and in his opinion did not make a.whole 'lot of difference and he recommended that the ordinance be amended to make this change. On motion by Mrs. O'Brien,. seconded by Mr. Albro the City Attorney's recommendation was unanimously adopted. An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE EXCHANGE OF CERTAIN CITY PROPERTY FOR OTHER PROPERTY OWNED BY THE RECTOR AND VISITORS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF VIRGINIA," which was offered at the meeting of the Council on April 2, 1979, was adopted by the following recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. Albro, Mr. Brunton, Mr. Buck, Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien. Noes: None.
