Ordinance re: Relating <br />to the Retirement Plan <br />Terms~df Members <br /> <br />Consideration re: <br />Ordinance rezoning <br />at 413 Avon Street -- <br />Denied <br /> <br />Consideration re: <br />Ordinance: Amending <br />Sections Establishing <br />a Flood Plain District <br /> <br /> An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDAIN <br />SECTION 20-12 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, <br />RELATING TO~THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE RETIREMENT PLAN COMMISSION," which <br />was offered at the meeting of the Council on May 7, ~ 79, was <br />adopted by the following recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. Albro, Mr. <br />Brunton, Mr. Buck, Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien. Noes: None. <br /> A communication was presented from the Planming Commission <br /> recommending that the petition to rezone from R-2 to B-2 <br /> property located at 413 Avon Street be denied for the following <br /> reasons: 1. it is contrary to the 1990 Land Use Plan; 2. it <br /> will have~ an adverse Effect on the residential quality of tbm <br /> neighborhood to the south; and 3. potential traffic and parking <br /> problems will be aggravated by proposed and potential uses. On <br /> motion by Mrs. O'Brien, seconded by Mr. Buck the recommendation of <br /> the Planning Commission was unanimously adopted. <br /> An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDAIN <br /> ARTICLE XV OF ~HAP~ER 31 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLDTTESVILLE, <br /> 1976, AS AMENDED, CONTAINING SECTIONS 31-117 THROUGH 31-125.2, <br /> TO AMEND AND REORDAIN SECTIONS 31-230, 26-45 AND ~-47, 2HE <br /> AMENDED ARTICLE AND SECTIONS RELATING GENERALLY TO THE DESIGNATION <br /> OF AND EST~BLISI{MENTMENT OF, REGULATIONS FOR DEVELOPMENT IN THE <br /> iOQ YEAR FLOOD PLAIN OR FP DISTRICT," was offered by Mrs. O'Brien, <br /> seconded by Mr. Albro and carried over to the next meeting for <br /> <br />c OhS ider a tion · <br /> Mr. Joe Johnson addressed the Council and requested that <br />the City set up a ~task force to explore the possibility of a <br />thirty minute headway on the bus system rather than the one hour <br />headway at present. He also requested that the committee examine <br /> the possibility of starting service earlier in the morning and <br /> also operating later at night and also Sunday service. <br /> Mrs. O'Brien suggested a work session to discuss the <br /> transportation system including JAUNT services. <br /> ~The City Manager advised the Council that the staff is making <br /> a survey of JAUNT services for the Council. He also stated that <br /> the staff would like a work session on the transportation system, <br /> but would like some time '~o work up information and cost estimates <br /> on starting service earlier in the morning, later in the evening <br /> <br />Resolution re: Authorizing <br />the commitment of funds <br />from the 1979-80 Budget <br /> <br />and on Sundays. <br /> On motion by Mr. Buck, seconded by Mrs. O'Brien the following <br /> <br />resolution was unanimously adopted. <br /> WHEREAS, the budge adopted for the Fiscal Year <br />and the appropriations ordinance adopted concurrently therewith <br />include funds for the installation of a computer assisted appr~isal <br />system for the office of the City Assessor; and <br /> WHEREAS, it is necessary, if such computer assisted system <br /> is to be used in making the 1979 general reassessment, that work <br /> on its installation begin immediately; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Manager has received and recommended <br /> the acceptance of a proposal of ECCO Consulting, Inc. in the amount <br /> of $30,000 for the installation of such system; <br /> <br /> <br />
