Appropriation re: $2,400 RSVP Consideration re: Appropriation - $28,316 City Hall Complex Energy Program Resolution re: Authorizing the commitment of funds from the 1979-80 Budget Resolution re: Appointing Viewers for Baker Street Resolution re: Establishing the amount of post retirement supplement bodies in Planning District X. Mrs. O'Brien stated that she agreed with the County's approach to endorsing the. concept until we get the grant, not appointing anyone or commiting the city to any money. A motion by Mrs. O'Brien, seconded by Mr. Albro than the Council support tim concept and wait for further information before proceeding further, was unanimously adopted. The resolution appropriating $2,400 for the Retired Senior Volunteer Program, Which was offered at the meeting of the Council on May 7, 1979, was adopted by the following recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. Albro, Mr. Brun~on, Mr. Buck, .Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien. Noes: None. On motion by Mrs. O'Brien, seconded by Mr. Buck the following resolution was offered and carried over to the next meeting for consideration. BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottes- ville, Virginia that the s~um of $2_8,316.00 is hereby appropriated from the unappropriated ~balance of the Capital Projects fund to expenditure account 05-00790 for the installation of energy conservation improvements im the City Hall ~omplex. On motion by Mr. Albro, seconded by Mr. Gatewood the following resolution was unanimously-adopted. WHEREAS, the budget adopted for the Fiscal Year 79-80 and the appropriation ordinance adopted concurrently therewith include funds for the repair of certain city buildings including repairs and improvements to the .heating system for McGuffey Art Center; and WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has obtained an estimate for the installation of such improvements to the heating system at McGuffey in the. amount of $12,350.00; and WHEREAS, the suppl%er furnishing sUch estimate cannot guarantee such price until JUly 1, 1979, when such new budget and appropriation become ~ffective. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that the~.~City Manager is hereby authorized to accept such estimated price of $12,350.00 immediately; provided, that payment shall not be made for such work until after July 1, 1979, when the installation of such improvements is complete. On motion by Mrs. O'Brien, seconded by Mr. Buck the following resolution was unanimously adopted. A RESOLUTION appointing viewers to consider a request for the vacation of a portion of Baker Street. WHEREAS, this Council has received a petition requesting vacation of a portion of Baker Street; and WHEREAS, it appears to Council that the notices required by Section 15.1-364 of the Code of Virginia (1950) as amended, have been duly posted; ' NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the. Council of the City of Charlottesville that Messrs. Mason S. Byrd, W. J. Copeland and H. P. Winn~repor~in writing to Council what inconvenience if any, would result for such vacation. On motion by Mrs. O'Brien, seconded by Mr. Buck the following resolution was unanimously adopted. WHEREAS, the City Council has previously adopted a budget for fiscal year 1979-80 which includes for an average salary increase of 5.5%, exclusive of merit increases for current City employees; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, pursuant to ~20-33 (h) of the Code of the City of Charlottesville, 1976, that t~e Retirement Fund Commission is authorized and directed to provide for the payment of a post retire- ment supplement of 5.5% of the current retirement pay of each beginningpresently July retiredl, City 1979 employee effective for the fiscal year
