Appropriation re: $2,400 <br />RSVP <br /> <br />Consideration re: <br />Appropriation - $28,316 <br />City Hall Complex Energy <br />Program <br /> <br />Resolution re: Authorizing <br />the commitment of funds <br />from the 1979-80 Budget <br /> <br />Resolution re: <br />Appointing Viewers <br />for Baker Street <br /> <br />Resolution re: <br />Establishing the amount <br />of post retirement <br />supplement <br /> <br /> bodies in Planning District X. <br /> <br /> Mrs. O'Brien stated that she agreed with the County's approach <br /> to endorsing the. concept until we get the grant, not appointing <br /> anyone or commiting the city to any money. <br /> <br /> A motion by Mrs. O'Brien, seconded by Mr. Albro than the Council <br /> support tim concept and wait for further information before proceeding <br /> further, was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> The resolution appropriating $2,400 for the Retired Senior <br />Volunteer Program, Which was offered at the meeting of the Council <br />on May 7, 1979, was adopted by the following recorded vote. Ayes: <br />Mr. Albro, Mr. Brun~on, Mr. Buck, .Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien. <br />Noes: None. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mrs. O'Brien, seconded by Mr. Buck the following <br />resolution was offered and carried over to the next meeting for <br />consideration. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottes- <br /> ville, Virginia that the s~um of $2_8,316.00 is hereby appropriated <br /> from the unappropriated ~balance of the Capital Projects fund to <br /> expenditure account 05-00790 for the installation of energy <br /> conservation improvements im the City Hall ~omplex. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Albro, seconded by Mr. Gatewood the following <br />resolution was unanimously-adopted. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the budget adopted for the Fiscal Year 79-80 <br />and the appropriation ordinance adopted concurrently therewith <br />include funds for the repair of certain city buildings including <br />repairs and improvements to the .heating system for McGuffey <br />Art Center; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has obtained an <br />estimate for the installation of such improvements to the heating <br />system at McGuffey in the. amount of $12,350.00; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the suppl%er furnishing sUch estimate cannot <br />guarantee such price until JUly 1, 1979, when such new budget and <br />appropriation become ~ffective. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br /> of Charlottesville that the~.~City Manager is hereby authorized to <br /> accept such estimated price of $12,350.00 immediately; provided, <br /> that payment shall not be made for such work until after July 1, <br /> 1979, when the installation of such improvements is complete. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mrs. O'Brien, seconded by Mr. Buck the following <br />resolution was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION appointing viewers to consider a request <br />for the vacation of a portion of Baker Street. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council has received a petition requesting <br />vacation of a portion of Baker Street; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it appears to Council that the notices required <br />by Section 15.1-364 of the Code of Virginia (1950) as amended, <br />have been duly posted; ' <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the. Council of the City <br /> of Charlottesville that Messrs. Mason S. Byrd, W. J. Copeland and <br /> H. P. Winn~repor~in writing to Council what inconvenience if <br /> any, would result for such vacation. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mrs. O'Brien, seconded by Mr. Buck the following <br /> resolution was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council has previously adopted a budget <br />for fiscal year 1979-80 which includes for an average salary increase <br />of 5.5%, exclusive of merit increases for current City employees; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of Charlottesville, <br /> pursuant to ~20-33 (h) of the Code of the City <br />of Charlottesville, 1976, that t~e Retirement Fund Commission is <br />authorized and directed to provide for the payment of a post retire- <br />ment supplement of 5.5% of the current retirement pay of each <br />beginningpresently July retiredl, City 1979 employee effective for the fiscal year <br /> <br /> <br />
