Consideration re: Ordinance - Bingo & Raffle Permits Report on the Thomas Jefferson Visitors Bureau An ordinance eqt~led ~'AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 17 OF THE CODE OF THE C~T?~6F~ CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976~ AS AMENDED BY ADDING NEW SECTIONS NUMBERED 17-19.1 THROUGH 17-19.12 AND TO REPEAL SECTION 17-19 RELATING TO LOTTERIES, RAFFLES AND BINGO GAMES," was offered by Mr. Gatewood~ seconded by Mrs. O'Brien and carried over to the next meeting for consideration. Mr. Albro reporting for the committee for the consideration of the development of the Thomas Jefferson Visitors Bureau reported that the Committee has met several times and have reached a stage in their deliberation where it was decided that the members would go back to their respective bodies for guidance. He stated the specific issue at this time is where the bureau should be housed at the outset. He stated under the current proposal the City will contribute $20,000 in cash, the County $10,000 in cash and the Chamber of Commerce $10,000 in cash and contribution of services and facilities. He stated that the proposal at the outset was for the visitors bureau to be located in the Chamber of Commerce office in the Commonwealth Building. Mr. Buck stated he feels strongly that it should be located e Bicentennial Center and that the Chamber should live up s commitment.
