Consideration re: <br />Appropriation ~ <br />$20,000 - Transit <br />Study <br /> <br />Consideration re: <br />Appropriation - $2,700 <br />McIntire Tennis Courts <br /> <br />Resolution.re: <br />Appointing Viewers <br />Ware Street <br /> <br />Resolution re: Adopting <br />amendments to permit <br />parking regulations <br /> <br /> (C) Term~na,tion of Appropriations <br /> <br /> The following appropriations previously made to expenditure <br />accounts in the Capital Projects Fund are hereby reduced in the <br />respective amounts shown, such amount being no longer needed for <br />the purposes for which they were originally appropriated, with <br />such sums to revert to the unappropriated balance Of the Capital <br />ProjeCts Fund. <br /> <br />05-00060 Juvenile Court Building <br />05-00390 Intersection ~ Preston & Rugby <br />05-00550Hydraulic Lift Vehicle <br />05-00650 Airport Runway Overlay <br />05-00770 Front End Loader <br /> <br />(D) TranSf'er'from General Fund <br /> <br />$ 1,090.00 <br />.02 <br />13,276.70 <br />914.20 <br />10,361.00 <br /> <br /> The sum of $500,000.00 is hereby transferred from the <br />unappropriated balance in the General Fund as of June 30, 1979 <br />to the unappropriated balance of the Capital Projects Fund, <br />effective July 1, 1979. (Account Code 01-91140) <br /> <br /> On motion by Mrs. O'Brien, seconded by Mr. Albro the following <br />resolution was offered and carried over to the next meeting for <br /> <br />consideration. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville, Virginia that the sum of $20,000.00 is hereby <br />appropriated from the balance of the Transit Fund to Expenditure <br />Account 15-11050 to fund a public transportation development <br />study for the Charlottesville/Albemarle area, provided that such <br />appropriation shall be subject to the receipt by the Transit <br />Fund of a like amount in UMTA Section 18 Planning Funds from <br />the Virginia Department of Highways and Transportation. <br /> <br /> The City Manager stated that the flooding of Schenk's Branch <br />last month caused damage to the retaining wall and four of the <br />McIntire Tennis Courts. He stated that the staff is somewhat <br />hesitant to spend money on than facility, but if the wall isn't <br />repaired the next time there is arflood it will begin to wash <br />away the earth at that location and it is cons!idered a safeny <br />hazard. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Albro, seconded by Mrs. O'Brien the <br />follOwing resolution was offered and carried over to the next <br />meeting for consideration. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottes- <br />ville, Virginia that the sum of $2,700.00 is hereby appropriated <br />from the unappropriated balance of the General Fund to <br />Expenditure Account 01-52010 for the repair of damage to the <br />McIntire Road tennis courts by the flooding of Schenks~Brancn <br />in October 1979. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Buck, seconded by Mr. Albro the following <br />resolution was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION appointing viewers to consider a request <br />for the vacation of a portion of unopened Ware Street. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council has received a petition requesting <br />vacation of a portion of unopened Ware Street; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it appears to Council that the notices <br />required by Section 15.1-364 of the Code of Virginia (1950), <br />as amended, have been duly posted; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br />City of Charlottesville that Messrs. Mason S. Byrd, W. J. Cope- <br />land and H. P. Winn report in writing to Council whan <br />inconvenience, if any, would result from such vacation. <br /> <br /> The City Manager presenned a resolution amending the permit <br />parking regulations so that additional areas could be tested to <br />if theY-meet~ the rhquirements. He stated that a request has been <br />received from an area in the Start Hill Neighborhood and at the <br />presenn time we would not be able to act on that request withoun <br />the amendmenn. <br /> <br /> <br />
