193 <br /> <br />PROCEDURES FOR THE SUBDIVISION OF LAND,~' was offered by Mrs. O'Brien, <br /> <br />seconded by Mr. Albro and carried over to the next meeting for <br /> <br />consideration. <br /> <br />Consideration re: On motion by Mrs. O'Brien, seconded by Mr. Gatewood the following <br />Appropriation - <br />$73,122 for repairing resolution was offered and carried over to the next meeting for <br />school roofs <br /> consideration. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, <br />Virginia., that the sum of $562,796 returned to the General Fund as a <br />result of the underexpenditure of funds appropriated for use by the <br />public school system of the city in the fiscal year ending June 30, <br />1979, is hereby appropriated to expenditure account 01-91140 and <br />transferred to the Capital Fund and reserved for future appropriations <br />from such funds; and <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the additional sum of 673,122 <br />is hereby appropriated from the unappropriated balance of the Capital <br />Fund to expenditure account 05~-00870 ~o £und additional costs incurred <br />by the city school aystem for repairing the roofs of Walker and Buford <br />Schools. <br /> <br />Declaring Monday, <br />December 24th <br />City Holiday for <br />this year only <br /> <br /> The City Manager stated that it had not been his intention to ask <br />City Council to declare December 24th a holiday, but recent news reports <br />indicate several cities were declaring an extra holiday this year. He <br /> <br />stated that in m survey it was fQund that most cities in the state, the <br /> <br />state government and federal government are declaring the Monday before <br /> <br />Christmas a holiday and requested on behalf of the employees that City <br /> <br />Council declare Christmas Eve a holiday this year. <br /> <br />On motion by Mrs. O'Brien, seconded by Mr. Albro December 24th was <br /> <br />declared a holiday for City Employees for this year. <br /> <br />Executive session <br /> <br />A motion by Mrs. O'Brien, seconded by Mr. Gatewood that Council <br /> <br />meet in executive session to discuss matters exempted by Sections <br /> <br />2.1-344(a)(1), 2.1~344(a)(2) and 2.1-344(a)(6) of the Virginia Freedom <br /> <br />of Information Act, was adopted by the following recorded vote. Ayes: <br /> <br />Mr. Albro~,~. Mr. Brunton, Mr. Buck, Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien.
