19'2 Resolution re: Authorizing the Mayor go sign a contract relating to the sale of the H. M. Gleason Co., Inc. Property Ordinance re: Closing &¥acating a portion of Ware Street, south of Druid Avenue On motion by Mrs. O'Brien, seconded by Mr. Albro the following resolution was unanimously adopted. BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, that the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute on behalf of the City the following document, in form approved by the City Attorney: A contract dated November 28, 1979 between the Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing Authority and H. M. Gleason & Co., Inc. and The City of Charlottesville ~elating to the sale of certain property in the Garrett Street Redevelopment Project. Such contract contains nine pages and two appendices. A copy of such document shall be kept on file with the minutes of the Council meeting at which, this resolution was adopted. An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE CLOSING, VACATING AND DISCONTINUING A PORTION OF UNOPENED WARE STREET IN THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE," which was offered at the meeting of the~Council on December 3,' 1979., was adopted by the following recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. Albro, Mr. Brunton, Mr. Buck, Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien. Noes: None. Ordinance re: Amending and reordaining the ordinance closing, vacating and discontinuing a portion of unopened Henry Ave. An ordinance entitled "AN 0RDINAitCE AMENDING AND' REORDAINING THE ORDINANCE CLOSING, VACATING AND DISCONTINUING A PORTION OF UNOPENED HENRY AVENUE IN THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE," which was offered at the meeting of the Council on December 3, 1979, was adopted by the following recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. Albro, Mr. Brunton, Mr. Buck, Mr. Gatewood Consideration re: Ordinance - rezoning from R-3 to B-1 property at 211 llth Street, N. E. Consideration re: Ordinance - Clewing, vacating a portion of East Garrett St. Consideration re: Ordinance Amending & reordaining City Code section 8-2 changing the ~name and voting place of Lane Precinct Consideration re: and Mrs. 0'Brien. Noes: None. A communication was presented from the Planning Commission recommending that the petition to rezone from R-3 to B-1 property located at 211 llth Street, N. E. be granted for the following reasons: 1. it is in harmony with the Comprehensive Plan and its accompanying land use plan; 2. the proposed use does not have a significant adverse impact on the surrounding neighborhood; and 3. the proposed use would help provide needed off street parking in this area. An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ~ENDING AND REENACTING THE DISTRICT MAP INCORPORATED IN SECTION 31-4 OF THE ZONING .ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, BY THE REZONING OF A PARCEL OF LAND LOCATED ON llTH STREET, N. E. IN THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE," was offered by Mrs.. O'Brien, seconded by Mr. Albro and carried over to the next meeting for consideration. An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE CLOSING, VACATING AND DISCONTINUING A PORTION OF EAST GARRETT STREET IN THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE,';'was offered by Mr. Gatewood, seconded by Mr. Albro and carried over to the next meeting for consideration. An ordinance entitled "AN.QRDINANCE TO A~MEND AND REORDAIN SECTION 8-2, AS AMENDED, OFTHE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, TO CHANGE THE NAME AND VOTING PLACE OF THE LANE PRECINCT," was offered by Mrs. O'Brien, seconded by Mr Albro and carried over · to.~:the next meeting for consideration.
