269 <br /> <br />Appropriation re <br />$17,813 Community <br />Attention Home <br /> <br /> Appropriation re: <br /> $2,500 Charlottes- <br /> ville-Albemarle Clean <br /> Community Commiss~.on <br /> <br /> Resolution re: <br /> Franchise fee for <br /> Multi-Channel Cable <br /> TV Company <br /> <br />Resolution re: <br />Appointment of <br />viewers for vacati n <br />Rougemont Avenue <br /> <br />Resolution re: ' <br />AUthorizing Mayor ~o <br />sign contract' for <br />transit services w: th <br />County <br /> <br />Resolution re: <br />Approval of Pay <br />Plan <br /> <br />Resolution re: <br />Establishing amount <br />of post-retirement <br />supplements <br /> <br /> The appropriation of $17,813 for the Community Attention <br /> · ~ .- ~72~ ~ · .. ~ ~,.. ~. ,~ <br />~°me"~c~'}!~a.~--~e~ed~t'.th~meeting. of Council on May 5 was <br />approved' by the following vote~ Ayes: Mr. Albro, Mr. Br.unton, <br />Mr, BuCk~ Mr, Gatewood.~ Mrs, O~Brien, Noes~ None. <br /> On motion by Mrs. O'B~_zen, ae'conded~by Mr Albro, an <br />appropriation of $2,5~0 for the Charlottesville-Albemarle <br />Clean Community Commission was ~offered and carried over to <br />the next meeting, for conside=ation, <br /> <br />On motion by Mrs, 0'Brien, seconded by Mr. Albro, the <br /> <br />following resolution was unanimously adopted: <br /> <br /> WHEREAS by a franchise ordinance adopted February 4, 1980, <br />this Council granted a franchise to Multi-Channel Cable TV <br />Company of Mansfield for th~ ownership, operation and maintenance <br />of a cable television communications system in the City of <br />Charlottesville; and <br /> <br /> W~EREAS Section 1~9 of said ordinance provided for Council <br />to establish by resolution a franchise fee to be paid by the Company <br />as part of the consideration for said franchise; now therefore <br />be it ' ' <br /> <br /> RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, <br />Virginia, that pursuant to Section 1-9 of the franchise <br />ordinance adopted February 4, 1.980, the fee to be paid by <br />Multi-Channel Cable TV Company of Mansfield is hereby fixed <br />and established as 3 percent of the gross revenues annually <br />derived by said Company from operations under .said franchise, <br />which fee shall be in addition to, and not in lieu of, any <br />business license tax levied upon the Company by the City <br />pursuant to general law. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Buck, seconded by Mr. Albro, Council <br />unanimously adopted the following resolution: <br /> <br /> WHEREAS this Council has received a petition requesting <br />vacation of that portion of Rougemont ~venue between Avon and <br />6th Streets, SW, and an alley west of Avon Street between Palatine <br />and Rougemont Avenues; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS it appears to Council that the notices required <br />by Section 15.1~364 of the Code of Virginia (1950), as amended, <br />have been duly posted; now, therefore, be it <br /> <br /> RESOLVED by the Council..of the. City of Charlottesville <br />thatMessrs. W.J, Copeland, Harry T. ~rshall and H.P. Winn <br />report in writing to Council what inconvenience, if any, would <br />result from such vacations. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mrs. O'Brien, seconded by Mr. Albro, the <br />following resolution was unanimously adopted by Council: <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council~of the City of Charlottesville <br />that the~Mayor is hereby authorized to execute on behalf of the <br />City the following document, in form approved by the City <br />Attorney: <br /> <br />Contract between the City of Charlottesville and <br />the County of Albemarle for transit services on <br />Route 29 North. <br /> <br /> A copy of such document shall be kept on file with the <br />minutes of the Council meeting at which this resolution was <br />adopted. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Albro, seconded by Mr. Buck, the following <br />resolution was unanimously adoptedby Council: <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville <br />that a document consisting of 23 pages comprising the Employee <br />ClassifiCation Pay Plan for the City of Charlottesville to be <br />effective July 1, 1980, assigning salary ranges to each class <br />pdsition in the City service is hereby approved pursuant to <br />Section 20-27 and Section 20-28 of the City Code and a copy <br />of the same shall be kept on file with the records of this <br />meeting. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Gatewood, seconded by Mr. Albro~ the <br />followzng resolutzon was unanimously a~opted by Council: <br /> <br /> WHEREAS the City Cou~cil has previously adopted a budget <br />for fiscal year 1980-81 wkich includes funding for an average <br />salary increase of 8.5%, exclusive of Merit increases for current <br /> <br /> <br />
