2'70 <br /> <br />Resolution re: <br />Naming unnamed <br />street <br /> <br />Resolution re: <br />Granting a permit <br />for YMCA use of <br />McIntire School <br /> <br />Ordinance re: <br />Amending Sections 9-1, <br />9-3, 9-10 and 9-12 <br />of the~City Code <br />pertaining to erosion <br />and sediment'.control <br /> <br />City employees; now, therefore, be it <br /> RESOLVED by the Council of the. City of Charlottesville, <br />pursuant to Section 29~33(b) of the Code of the City of <br />Charlottesville, 1976, that the Retirement Fund Commission is <br />authorized and directed to provide for the payment of a post-. <br />retirement supplement of 8.5% or,the current retirement pay <br />of each presently retired~City employee~effective for the <br />fiscal year beginning JulyLl, 1980. <br /> On motion by Mr. Albro, seconded by Mrs. O'Brien, the <br />following resolution was unanimously adopted by Council: <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, <br />Virginia, that a certain unnamed'street or road lying southeast <br />of Baylors Lane, adjacent'to Parcels 50 through 65 on City Real <br />Property Tax Map 26, shall henceforth be know and designated as <br />WoOdfolk Drive, in honor of Mrs. MaryTrueheart Woodfolk, a <br />long-time citizen of Charlottesville and resident of that area <br />of the City; and <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of Council is <br /> directed to send a.certified.copy of this resolution to the <br /> Clerk of the Circuit Court for recordation in the street closing <br /> book. <br /> On motion by Mrs. 0~Brien, seconded by Mr. Albro, Council <br /> <br /> unanimously adopted the following resolution: <br /> WHEREAS the Charlottesville Family Y has applied for a special <br /> permit for use of property belonging to the County of Albemarle <br /> on the south side of'U.S. 250 Bypass at Birdwood Lane, known <br /> as MCIntire School, as a]p~ivate, non~eommercial, recreational <br /> facility for group use pursuant to Section 31-14(,c)~of the City <br /> Code; and <br /> WHEREAS this special permit application was the subject of <br /> a duly advertised joint~public hearing before the City Planning <br /> Commission and this Council on May 13, 1980, at which comments <br /> were received from adjacent property owners and other interested <br /> citizens; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS the granting of the requested special permit subject <br /> to certain conditions has been recommended by the City planning <br /> staff in a report~dated May 1, 1980, and by the City Planning <br /> Commission by ~ajority vote recorded on May 13, 1980; now, <br /> therefore, be it <br /> <br /> RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, <br /> Virginia, that there ishereby granted a special permit for <br /> the use of property belonging to the County of Albemarle know <br /> as McIntire School on the south sideof U.S. 250 Bypass at Birdwood <br /> Lane for a private, non-commercial, recreational facility for <br /> group use. Such special permit is expressly conditioned upon: <br /> <br /> (a) Restriction of the use of-the facility for such <br /> purposes to the portions of the school building <br /> designated on the approved site plan; <br /> <br />(b) Prohibition of left turns from U.S. 250 Bypass <br /> into. Birdwood and Hillcrest Roads between the hours <br /> of 7:00 and 9:00 a,m. and 4:00 and 6:00 p.m., Monday <br /> through Friday; <br /> <br />(c) Development and use of the property in conformity <br /> with a site plan to be approved administratively by <br /> the Director of Planning, following the correction <br /> thereof to show the location, size, height and type <br /> of any signs, the location and direction of any outdoor <br /> lighting proposed to be installed by the applicant; <br /> <br />(d) Waiver by the Planning Commission of requirements <br /> for screening, marking of parking spaces and installation <br /> of sidewalk. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mrs. O'Brien, seconded by Mr. Albro, the <br /> <br />ordinance entitled~"AN· ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDAIN SECTIONS <br /> <br />9-1, 9-3, 9~10 AND 9-12 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, <br />1976, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO EXEMPTING EXPLORATION ON DRILLING <br />FOR OIL AND GAS FROM EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL AND MAINTAINING <br /> <br />APPROPRIATE CONSERVATION ACTION" was offered and carried over <br /> <br />to the next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br /> <br />
