2'79 <br /> <br />Ordinance re.: <br />Closing and vacating <br />portion of Rougemont <br />Avenue and alley <br />west of Avon Street <br /> <br />Other business <br /> <br />Executive session <br /> <br />Special session <br /> <br /> carried over to the next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Albro, seconded by Mrs. O'Brien, an ordinance <br />entitled "AN ORDINANCE CLOSING, VACATING AND DISCONTINUING THAT <br />UNOPENED PORTION OF ROUGEMONT AVENUE BETWEEN AVON STREET AND <br />6TH STREET, S,E,~ AND AN ALLEY WEST OF AVON STREET BETWEEN <br />PALATINE AND ROUGEMONT AVENUES" was offered and carried over to <br />the next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br /> Mr. Gate~ood reported that the Finance Committee, of which he <br /> <br />is chairman, recommended, that the Treasurer's lists of 1978 Delinquent <br />and Erroneous Taxes be~accepted, that the erroneous taxes be charged <br />off and the City Treasurer he instructed to continue to collect <br />delinquent taxes. On motion by Mr. Gatewood, seconded by Mr. Albro, <br />the recommendation of the Finance Committee was unanimously approved. <br /> <br /> Mrs. O'Brien stated that at the last County Planning Commission <br />meeting,, two plans were considered that are in the drainage area <br />not protected in these matters. She requested that City staff <br />notify Council of changes of property in the watershed area so <br /> <br /> Council can decide whether to respond. She further requested that <br />staff investigate the two site plans that will come before the <br />Board of Supervisors on June 11. <br /> <br /> Mr. Cole Hendrix, City Manager, requested that Council <br /> <br />authorize the release of an additional $4,000 from the Economic <br />Development budget for the Zuchelli, Hunter and Associates <br />contract on the Vinegar Hill hotel/conference cneter development. <br />On motion by Mrs. O'Brien, seconded by Mr. Gatewood, Council <br />unanimously approved the request. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Buck, seconded by Mr. Albro, Council <br />unanimously agreed to meet in executive session this evening <br />and Thursday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. to discuss matters <br />exempted under Section 2.1~344(a)(l~P~rsonnel) and Section <br />2.1-344(a)(6)(Legal) of the Virginia Freedom of Information <br /> <br />On motion the meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />ACt. <br /> <br />Presid&nt <br /> <br />TAKE NOTICE <br /> <br /> A special meeting of the Council will be held Tuesday <br />the 10th inst. at 7:25 p.m. o'clock. <br />COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br /> <br />To consider appointments to the Industrial Development <br /> <br />Bond Authority of the City of Charlottesville.
