Tayloe <br />to the Industrial Development Bond Authority. <br /> <br />On motion the meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />President <br /> <br />Regular session <br /> <br />Approval of minutes <br /> <br />Matters by the public <br /> <br />COUNCIL CHAMBER - MONDAY, JUNE 16, 1980 <br /> <br /> Council met in regular session on this date with the following <br /> members present: Mr. Albro, Mr. Brunton, Mr. Buck, Mr. Gatewood, <br /> Mrs. O'Brien. Absent: None. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Gatewood, seconded by Mr. Albro, the minutes <br /> of May 13 were unanimously approved as presented. On motion by <br /> Mrs. O'Brien, seconded by Mr. Albro, the minutes of May 19 were <br /> unanimously approved as presented. On motion by Mr. Gatewood, <br /> seconded by Mr. Albro, the minutes of June 2 were unanimously <br /> approved as presented. On motion by Mrs. O'Brien, seconded by <br /> Mr. Buck, the minutes of June 10 were unanimously approved as <br /> presented, with Mr. Albro and Mr. Gatewood abstaining as they <br /> were not present at the~meeting of June 10. <br /> <br /> Mr. Frank Folsom Smith and Ms. Peggy Brooks of the McGuffey <br /> Hill Housing Development project requested a 90 day extension on <br /> the option to the housing site due to unforeseen problems encountered <br /> in the subsoil conditions on site as well as the volatile financial <br /> market. On motion by Mr, Buck, seconded by Mrs. O'Brien, this <br /> extension was unanimously approved. <br /> <br /> Ms. Linda Seaman of the League of Women Voters presented <br /> <br />a prepared stated, a copy of which is on file with the minutes <br />of this meeting, concerning certain Rivanna Reservoir development <br />proposals currently being considered by the County Board of <br />Supervisors. The League urged the City Council and staff to <br />protect the interests of its citizens and support efforts to <br />protect the reservoir during future discussions of development <br />proposals. The statement noted that there was no apparent <br />City representation at the last board meeting at which one of <br />these proposals was discussed. Mr. Cole Hendrix, City Manager, <br />responded by asking Mr, Satyendra Huja, Director of Community <br />Planning and Development, to comment on the matter. Mr. Huja <br />stated that he had attended the meeting in question and had <br />not spoken in public on the matter as he lacked sufficient data <br />to make intelligent comments, although he has discussed it with <br />the County planning staff. He noted that the City planning <br />staff has recently set up a procedure for notifying Council <br />members when development proposals in the Rivanna watershed <br />are being considered by the County. Mrs. O'Brien commented <br />that a represetnative of the Council should have been at the <br /> <br /> <br />
