Resolution re: <br />Authorizing close-out <br />of~qGarrett Street <br /> <br />Resolution re: <br />Declaring City eligible <br />for conservation <br />pursuant to Section <br />36-49.1 of Virginia <br />Code <br /> <br />Joint public hearing <br />with Planning Co~.a <br />mission re: rezoning <br />petitions <br /> <br />On motion hy Mr. Conover, seconded by Mr. Albro, Council <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by resoluti'on adopted October 6, 1969, City Council <br />approved the Redevelopment Plan for the Garrett Street Project <br />No. Va. R~-44; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS a Cooperation Agreement dated October 6, 1969, as <br />amended, between the Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing <br />AuthOrity and tha City provided for the Authority to carry out <br />the execution of the Garrett Street Project; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS it is now considered desirable for the City and <br />the Authority to effeCt a financial settlement of the project <br />with tha Department of Housing and Urban Development; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS a CloseeOut Agreement for the Garrett Street Project, <br />No. Va. R~44, has'been prepared and considered, nQW, therefore <br />be it ' ' <br /> <br /> RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that <br />the Close-Out Agreement between the City of Charlottesville and <br />the Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing Authority dated <br />August 12, 1980, for'the financial settlement of the Garrett <br />Street Project, No. Va. ~R-44, is hereby in all respects approved <br />subject to tha concurrence of the Department of Housing and Urban <br />Development; and be it <br /> <br /> FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and Clerk of Council are <br />hereby authorized to execute the Close-Out Agreement on behalf <br />of the City of Charlottesville. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Conover, seconded by Mr. Albro, Council <br />unanimously adopted the following resolution: <br /> <br /> WHEREAS it appears to the Council of the City of Charlottes- <br />ville, Virginia, that a portion of the City of Charlottesville <br />described in Exhibit A attached to this resolution and incorporated <br />herein by reference (the "conservation area") is deteriorating and <br />may be eligible for conservation as provided by Section 36-49.1 <br />of the Code of Virginia (1950), as amended; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS i't is in the public interesn that the Charlottesville <br />Redevelopment and Housing Authority (the "AuthoritY}') prepare a <br />plan for the conservation thereof; now, therefore, be it <br /> <br /> RESOLVED by the COuncil of the City of Charlottesville, <br />Virginia, that the conservation area is deteriorating and may be <br />eligible for conservation am provided by Section 36-49.1 of the <br />Code of Virginia (1950), as amended; and be it <br /> <br /> FURTHER RESOLVED by. the Council that the Authority is hereby <br />authorized and directed to prepare a plan for the conservation <br />area in order to undertake and carry out a conservation project in <br />accordance with Section 36-49.1 of the Code of Virginia (1950), <br />as amended, and to take such other and further action as it may <br />deem appropriate in connection therewith. <br /> <br />After meeting briefly as the Charlottesville Redevelopment <br /> <br />and Housing Authority Board, Council joined the Planning Commission <br /> <br />in a joint public hearing on two rezoning petitions, the minut, es <br /> <br />of which are contained in the file in which these minutes are <br /> <br />kept. . .~~ <br /> On motion the meeting adjourned <br /> <br /> Clerk ~ President <br /> <br />305 <br /> <br />Rggul.a~ session <br /> <br />Executive session <br /> <br /> COUNCIL CHAMBER - MONDAY, AUGUST 18, 1980 <br /> <br />· ~ Council met in regular~ session on this date with the <br />following members present: Mr. Albr~, Mr. Buck, Mr. Conover, <br />Ma, G!eaaon~ Dr, Hall, AbSent: None, <br /> <br /> On motion hy Ms. Gleason, seconded by Mr. Con0ver, <br />Council unanimously agreed ~a meet in executive session before <br />the start of the regular session to discusssmatters exempted <br /> <br /> <br />
