354 <br /> <br />Executive session <br /> <br /> WHEREAS the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, needs to <br />obtain a permanent easement and right-of-way to construct, replace, <br />maintain and repair a sanitary sewer line and manhole across a <br />portion of a lot identified as Parcel 303 on City Real Property <br />Tax Map 4, located within the City limits and designated as 1301 <br />Wertland Street; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS the easement and right-of-way are for a width ofl0 <br />feet on either side of the center line of the proposed sanitary <br />sewer line; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS consent to the purchase of the property necessary for <br />the project cannot be obtained because one or more of the owners <br />is unknown; now, therefore, be it <br /> <br /> RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, <br />that a public necessity is hereby declared to exist for the <br />acquisition of a permanent easement and right-of-way across Parcel <br />303 on City Real Property Tax Map 4 in order to proceed with the <br />sanitary sewer project; and be it <br /> <br /> FURTHER RESOLVED by the Council of the City off, Charlottesville, <br />Virginia, that the City Attorney be and hereby is directed to <br />institute condemnation proceedings for the acquisition of the <br />permanent easement and right-of-way for a sanitary sewer line and <br />manhole across and on a portion of Parcel 303 on City Real Property <br />Tax Map 4 and to file the necessary documents with the Circuit Court <br />of the City of Charlottesville as provided in Sections 15.1-898 <br />and 15.1-899 of the Code of Virginia (1950), as amended, and <br />Sections 41 and 50il of the Charter of the City of Charlottesville, <br />Virginia. <br /> <br />On motion by Ms. Gleason, seconded by Mr. Conover, Council <br /> <br />unanimously agreed to meet in executive session immediately <br /> <br />following the regular meeting to discuss matters exempted by Section <br /> <br />2.1-344(a) (6) (Legal) and (1) (Personnel) of the Virginia Freedom of <br /> <br />Information Act. <br /> <br /> On motion the meeting <br /> <br /> Clerk <br /> <br />ado ourne~ <br /> President <br /> <br />Special session <br /> <br />Staff report re: <br />5A & 5B transit <br />routes <br /> <br /> TAKE NOTICE <br /> <br /> A special meeting of Council will be held Monday the 10th <br />inst. at 7:30 p.m. o'clock. <br />COUNCIL CHAMBER <br /> <br />Staff report re: 5A and 5B transit routes <br /> <br />Staff report re: hotel developer <br /> <br />Appropriation $24,500 Belmont sewer & drainage project (2nd reading) <br />Appropriation $16,515 Chesapeake St. drainage project (2nd reading) <br /> <br />Executive session to discuss matters exempted by Section 2.1-344 <br />(a)(1)(Personnel) and (6)(Legal) of the Virginia Freedom of <br />Information Act. <br /> <br /> BY ORDER OF <br /> <br />Kathleen Roletter (signed) Francis L. Absent: None. <br /> <br /> Mr. Cole Hendrix, City Manager, presented to Council an <br />explanation of the present routes 5A~and 5B, using a map for <br />illustration. He traced the loop each route follows, explaining <br />the times each bus stops at certain destinations and the reasoning <br />for the present scheduling.
