Buck (signed) <br /> <br />COUNCIL CHAMBER - MONDAY, DECEMBER 15, 1980 <br />Council met in special session on this date with the following <br />members present: Mr. Albro, Mr. Buck, Mr. Conover, Ms. Gleason, <br />Dr. Hall. Absent: None. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Albro, seconded by Mr. Conover, Council <br />unanimously agreed to meet in executive session to discuss matters <br />exempted by Section 2.1-344(a)(1)(Personnel) of the Virginia Freedom <br />of Information Act. <br /> <br /> Following the executive session, Council met in the Council <br /> Chamber for the regular meeting. <br /> <br /> On motion by Ms. Gleason, seconded by Dr. Hall, the minutes of <br />December 1 were unanimously approved as presented. On motion by <br />Mr. Conover, seconded by Ms. Gleason, the minutes of December 8 <br />were unanimously approved as presented. On motion by Mr. Conover, <br />seconded by Mr. Albro, the minutes of December 10 were unanimously <br />approved with amendment. <br /> <br /> Ms. Peggy King, president of the League of Women Voters, <br />presented to Council the League's latest reviaion of the "Guide <br />to Local Government in Charlottesville and Albemarle County." The <br />56 page booklet explains the structure and function of the two <br />governments in a comparative format and have been made available <br />gratis to area libraries and schools. Additional copies of the <br />booklet are available to the public at local book stores and through <br />the League at $2.00 per copy. Mayor Buck thanked the League for this <br />valuable public service. <br /> <br />On nomination hy Mr. Conover~ Mr. Steven Nock and Ms. Dianne <br />Martin were unanimously appointed to the Social Development Commission. <br /> <br /> <br />
