20' <br /> <br />Request re: Appropriation - <br />Jefferson Area Board for <br />Aging - $2,848.56 <br /> <br />Appointment re: City <br />Assessor - Thomas W. <br />Branham <br /> <br />Authorizing Mayor to <br />sign documents to <br />transfer City's Water <br />and Sewer Service to <br />County. <br /> <br />Authorizing Mayor to <br />sign settlement agreement <br />in the Branchlands Case <br /> <br />Resolution re: Appointment <br />of Viewers - Montebello <br />Circle and Jeff. Park Ave. <br /> <br />evening from 7:00 P.M. to 9:30 P.M. through December. On <br />motion by Mr. Gilliam, seconded by Mr. Van Yahres the following <br />resolution was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Post No. 1827 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars <br />has duly applied for a permit to conduct bingo parties zn <br />compliance with §19-36 of the Code of the City of Charlottesville, <br />1965, as amended; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined that Post No. 1827 of <br />-the Veterans of Foreign Wars meets the qualifications as outlined <br /> in §19-36; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br />City of Charlottesville that a permit be granted to Post No. 1827 <br />of the Veterans of Foreign Wars to conduct bingo parties in <br />accordance with all the provisions of ~19-36 of the Code of <br />the City of Charlottesville for a period of one year from the <br />date of this resolution; and <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City <br />of Charlottesville grants permission to Post No. 1827 of the <br />Veterans of Foreign Wars to conduct turkey shoots on their <br />property within the City limits for a period of one year from the <br />date of this resolution; and <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Council be <br />directed to send a copy of this resolution to Post No. 1827 of <br />the Veterans of Foreign Wars. <br /> <br /> A communication was presented from the Jefferson Area Board <br />for Aging stating that Charlottesville's share of the funding for <br />this board would be $712.14 each quarter. On motion by Mrs. <br />Rinehart, seconded by Mr. Fife the following resolution was <br />offered and carried over to the next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville that $2,848.56 be and the same is hereby <br />appropriated for the City's share of the Jefferson Area Board <br />for Aging Funding. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Van Yahres, Mr. Thomas W. Branham, was <br />appointed City Assessor by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Gilliam, seconded by Mr. Van Yahres it was <br />unanimously RESOLVED that the Mayor be authorized to sign documents <br />transferring the City's Water and Sewer Service customers in the <br />County to the Albemarle Service Authority. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mrs. Rinehart, seconded by Mr. Gilliam the <br /> <br />M~yor was authorized to execute settlement agreement in the Case <br />of Albemarle County and Albemarle County Service Authority versus <br />City of Charlottesville (et al) known as the "Branchlands Case." <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Gilliam, seconded by Mr. Fife the following <br />resolution was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION appointing viewers to consider a request <br />for the vacation of an alley lying between Montebello Circle <br />and Jefferson Park Avenue. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council has received a petition requesting <br />vacation of a ten foot alley lying between Montebello Circle and <br />Jefferson Park Avenue and bordering along Parcels 7 and 8 on City <br />Tax Map 16; and <br /> <br /> <br />
