24 <br /> <br />Appointment re: <br />Redevelopment and <br />Housing Authority <br /> <br />Appointment re: <br />Redevelopment and <br />Housing Authority <br /> <br />Appointment re: <br />Thomas Jefferson <br />Regional Planning <br />District Commission <br /> <br />Appropriation re: <br />$2,955.96 - insurance <br />school bus fleet <br /> <br />Appropriation re: <br />$2,848.56 - Jefferson <br />Board for Aging <br /> <br />Report re: Lane <br />High School Committee <br /> <br />Report re: <br />Ordinance <br /> <br />Truck <br /> <br />Mr. Fife and carried over to the next meeting for conslderatzo · <br /> On motion by Mrs. Rinehart, Mr. Robert Hodous, was reappointed <br />to the Redevelopment and Housing Authority Board for a four year <br />term, expiring August 10, 1979, by unanimous vote. <br /> On motion by Mr. Gilliam, Mrs. Mary Alice Jones, was reappointed <br /> to the Redevelopment and Housing Authority Board for a four year <br /> term, expiring August 10, 1979, by unanimous vote. <br /> On motion by Mr. Barbour, Mrs. Virginia Yancey, was appointed <br /> to the Thomas Jefferson Regional Planning District Commission, <br /> by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> The resolution appropriating $2,955.96 for insurance for <br /> <br /> the school bus fleet, which was offered at the meeting of the <br /> Council on August 18, 1975, was adopted by the following <br /> recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. Barbour, Mr. Fife, Mr. Gilliam, <br /> Mrs. Rinehart and Mr. Van Yahres. Noes: None. <br /> The resolution appropriating $2,848.56 for Jefferson Board <br /> <br /> for Aging, which was offered at the meeting of the Council on <br /> August 18, 1975, was adopted by the following recorded vote. <br /> Ayes: Mr. Barbour, Mr. Fife, Mr. Gilliam, Mrs. Rinehart and <br /> Mr. Van Yahres. Noes: None. <br /> Mr. Gilliam, reporting for the Lane High School Committee, <br /> stated that the school system obviously has certain needs which <br /> cannot be met without continued use of the Lane High School <br /> Building, specifically the locker rooms and the football field <br /> and related facilities. He stated that the administration also <br /> has needs of~ expanded office space and certain other needs. <br /> He stated that obviously the needs for the athletic facilities <br /> must be satisfied before any final disposition can be made <br /> of Lane High School completely. The Committee has received <br /> a list of priorities from the School Administration, which will <br /> be presented to the Council next week at the meeting with~,, the <br /> School Board. Mr. Gilliam stated that it was proposed that a <br /> Citizens Committee be jointly appointed by the School Board and <br /> City Council to update the suggestions made about a year ago <br /> for use of Lane and to hear any new suggestions which might <br /> be made. Mr'. Gilliam requested that anyone having suggestions <br /> for the use of Lane to please communicate them in writing to <br /> the committee. <br /> The proposed Truck Ordinance was again discussed. The City <br /> Manager stated that the Truck Ordinance was discussed at a work <br /> session a few weeks ago and the Council came to the infomal <br /> conclusion that they did not want to pass a Truck Ordinance <br /> at this time.
