Appointment re: <br />Board <br /> <br />Library <br /> <br />Communication re: <br />Albemarle County <br />Board of Supervisors~'~ <br />re: Turning 'McIntlre <br />School Rezoning <br />back to R-1 <br /> <br />Appropriation re: <br />$1,810.50 - General <br />District Court <br /> <br />Communication r~: <br />School Board re: <br />Lane Building <br />repairs <br /> <br />Consideration re: <br />Appropriation $1,500 <br />Resource Recovery <br />Study Commission <br /> <br />Resolution re: <br />UMTA <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Fife, Mr. Robert Stroh, was reappointed <br /> <br />to the Library Board, for a four year term, expiring August <br /> <br />31, 1979, by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> A communication was presented from the Albemarle County <br />Board of Supervisors advising that the McIntire School has <br />been returned to the County School Board for school purposes <br />and stating that if it the desire of the City Council to rezone <br />the McIntire Property to its original zoning classification <br />the Board of Supervisors agrees to such action. Mr. Gilliam, <br />stated that the McIntire School Property is shown on the <br />New Zoning Map as R-I, therefore when this map is adopted the <br />property will be in effect by R-1 property. On motion by <br />Mr. Van Yahres, seconded by Mr. Gilliam it was unanimously <br />RESOLVED that it is the sense of Council that this property <br />be rezoned back to R-1. <br /> <br /> The resolution appropriating $1,810.50 fOr refund to the <br /> General District Court, which was offered at the meeting of the <br /> Council on October 20, 1975, was adopted by the following <br /> recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. Barbour, Mr. Fife, Mr. Gilliam, <br /> Mrs. Rinehart and Mr.- Van Yahres. Noes: None. <br /> <br /> A communication was presented from the School Board~ <br /> stating that minimum emergency repairs were essential <br /> if the Lane Building is to be utilized and is to be <br /> protected from, further deterioration. The repairs sited <br /> were roof repairs, exterior columns require painting and <br /> the boilers need to be retubed, the estimated cost to <br /> complete the work is $9,100. On motion by Mrs. Rinehart, <br /> seconded by Mr. Van Yahres, the following resolution was <br /> offered and carried over to the next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED bY the Council of the City of <br /> Charlottesville that $9,100 be and the same is hereby <br /> appropriated from the General Fund for repairs to the <br /> Lane High School Building. <br /> <br /> A communication was presented from the Resource Recovery <br /> Study Commission, stating that the EPA will accept new <br /> grant applications for funds and the final date for filing <br /> is December 22, 1975. It stated that $4500 is needed to <br /> complete the application, to be divided one-third CitY, <br /> one-third County and one-third University of Virginia. On <br /> motion by Mr. Gilliam, seconded by Mr. Fife the following <br /> resolution was offered and carried over to the next meeting <br /> for consideration. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br /> Charlottesville that $1,500 be and the same is hereby <br /> appropriated for expenses of the Resource Recovery Study <br /> Commission. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mrs. Rinehart, seconded by Mr. Van Yahres <br /> <br /> the following resolution was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Urban Mass Transportation Administration <br /> of the United States Department of Transportation has <br /> notified the City of its approval of a capital grant request <br /> in the maximum amount of $581,332.00; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City is desirous of accepting such <br /> grant and entering in to requisite contractual agreements to <br /> proceed with the project; <br /> <br /> <br />
