He stated that we have <br /> several dead limbs fall on a car and damaged it extensively <br /> and recommended that an appropriation be made to either trim <br /> or remove these trees. On motion by Mrs. Rinehart, seconded <br /> by Mr. Fife the following resolution was offered and carried <br /> over to the nexn meeting for consideration. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Charlottesville that <br /> $!i~i~0~ be and the same is hereby appropriated from the General <br /> fund for tree removal. <br /> <br /> The Treasurers' list of Delinquent and Erroneous Taxes as <br /> of June 30, 1975 was presented and referred to a committee <br /> composed of Mr. Van Yahres, Miss Ora Maupin and J. S. Rush, Jr. <br /> for a recommendation. <br /> <br /> Mr. Mike Gleason addressed 'the Council and advised the <br />Council that Mrs. Thomas R. Hornor of Lyons Watch at Carter's <br />Bridge has offered to donate to the City four cast stone <br />statues and pedestals~representing the Four Seasons. He <br />stated that each statue is five to six feet in height with <br />the pedestal an additional two feet and weights about 1500 <br />pounds. Mrs. Hornor estimates the value of each statue at <br />$1300, she stated the sculpture was done by Mr. Kenneth Lynch <br />of ConnecticUt from Fairfield Stone. He recommended that the <br />City formally accept the statuary from Mrs. Hornor and <br />consider~placing it in Pen Park. He also recommended if Pen <br />Park is chosen that the City consider unveiling of the statues <br />on January 19, 1976, when the Gilmer Cemetery dedication is <br />scheduled. A motion by Mr. Fife, seconded by Mrs. Rinehart <br />that the City accept the statues with thanks to Mrs. Hornor, <br />was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> A motion by Mrs. Rinehart, seconded by Mr. Gilliam the <br />Council voted to go into executive session to discuss land <br />acquisition, by the following recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. Barbour, <br />Mr. Fife, Mr. Gilliam and Mrs. Rinehart. Noes: None.
