<br /> The resolution appropriating $8,200 for the Human
<br />
<br /> Resources Assembl~, which was offered at the meeting of the
<br /> Council on January 20, 1976, was adopted by the following
<br /> recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. Barbour, Mr. Fife, Mr. Gilliam,
<br /> Mrs. Rinehart and Mr. Van Yahres. Noes: None.

<br /> Several people addressed the Council in regard to adding
<br />
<br />more women to the police force as officers. After some
<br />discussion, the resolution appropriating $20,590 for
<br />additional police personnel, which was offered at the meeting
<br />of the Council on January 20, 1976, was adopted by the
<br />following recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. Barbour, Mr. Fife, Mr.
<br />Gilliam, and~Mrs. Rinehart. Noes: Mr. Van Yahres.

<br /> On motion by Mrs. Rinehart, seconded by Mr. Van Yahres
<br />
<br /> the following resolution was offered and carried over to the
<br />
<br />next meeting for consideration.
<br />
<br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
<br />Charlottesville that $26,194 be and the same is hereby
<br />appropriated from the Capital Fund, subject to reimbursement
<br />by the Commonwealth of Virginia for the purchase of the
<br />Community Attention Home, Inc.
<br />
<br /> On motion by Mr. Gilliam, seconded by Mrs. Rinehart
<br />
<br />the following resolution was offered and carried over to
<br />
<br />next meeting for consideration.
<br />
<br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the ~Council of the City of
<br />Charlottesville that $10,287 be and the same is hereby
<br />appropriated from the General Fund as a supplemental
<br />appropriation for fiscal year 1976 for the Central Piedmont'
<br />Urban Observatory.
<br />
<br /> A staff report was presented concerning improvements
<br />
<br />to the Lane High School Football Field. Mr. Hendrix
<br />stated that the actual cost of the project would be $35,000;
<br />$30,000 to be paid by the City and $5,000 by the School
<br />Board. On motion by Mr. Gilliam, seconded by Mrs. Rinehart
<br />the transfer of $30,000 was authorized from the unexpended
<br />balance of the High School Impact Fund. Mr. Fife, stated
<br />that his approval was Subject to the School Boards approval.

<br /> An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AP~ND AND REORDAIN
<br />SECTION 18-33 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE,
<br />1965, RELATING TO MAXIMUM AND MINIMUM SPEED LIMITS, ETC,,"
<br />which was offered at the meeting of the Council on January
<br />20, 1976, was adopted by the following recorded vote. Ayes:
<br />Mr. Barbour, Mt.Fife, Mr. Gilliam, Mrs.Rinehart and Mr.
<br />Van Yahres. Noes: NOne.

<br /> An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE CLOSING, VACATING
<br />
<br />AND DISCONTINUING UNIMPROVED HEDGE STREET LYING BETWEEN
<br />2ND STREET, N. E. AND 3RD STREET, N. E. IN THE CITY OF
<br />CHARLOTTESVILLE," which was ~ffered at the meeting of the
<br />Council on January 20, 1976, was denied by the following
<br />recorded vote. Ayes: None. Noes: Mr. Barbour, Mr. Fife,
