Approving transfer of $29,000 <br />from.CDRS Project - 9th Street <br />to CDRS Project - Rose <br />Hill Drive Sidewalks <br /> <br /> On motion by Mrs. Rinehart, seconded by Mr. Gilliam <br /> the Council approved the transfer of $29,000 in Community <br /> Development Revenue Sharing Funds from the Ninth Street <br /> Project to the Rose Hill Drive Sidewalk Project, by the <br /> folloWing recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. Barbour, Mr. Fife, <br /> <br /> Mr.. Gilliam, Mrs. Rinehart and Mr. Van Yahres. Noes: None <br />Approving transfer of $15,000 On motion by Mrs. Rinehart, seconded by Mr. Gilliam <br />from CDRS Project - <br /> <br />Land lease to CDRS <br />Project - Improvement~ <br />for the Blind in the <br />Belmont Area <br /> <br />the Council approved the transfer of $15,000 in Community <br />Development Revenue Sharing Funds from the Land Lease <br />ProjeCt to the Improvements for the Blind in the Belmont <br /> <br />Area Project, by the following recorded vote. Ayes: <br />Mr. Barbour, Mr. Fife, Mr. Gilliam, Mrs. Rinehart and <br /> <br />Resolution re: Authorizing <br />City Manager to Execute <br />Agreement w/ Va. <br />Department of Highways <br />and Transportation <br /> <br />Accepting bids for 9th <br />Street Project <br /> <br />Mr. Van Yahres. Noes: None. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Gilliam, seconded by Mrs. Rinehart <br /> <br />the following resolution was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City has previously entered into <br />agreements with the Urban Mass Transit Administration of <br />the United States Department of Transportation for a <br />capital grant to assist the City in development of a <br />mass transit bus system, Project VA-03-0013, which <br />grant required a local matching share of twenty percent <br />of the project cost; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City has now been notified by <br /> the Department of Highways and Transportatioh of the <br /> Commonwealth of Virginia that state funds are <br /> available to pay eighty-five percent of the aforesaid <br /> local share; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council <br /> of the City of Charlottesville that the City Manager is <br /> authorized and directed to execute an agreement for <br /> the ~tllization of state aid for mass transportation <br /> capital costs in the Charlottesville area, in <br /> connection with the aforesaid Project VA-03-0013, for <br /> the receipt of $121,493 in state funds to provide <br /> eighty-five percent of the local share of such project. <br /> <br /> The City Manager presented the bids for the <br /> construction of 9th Street S. W. and recommended that <br /> the low bid of Faulconer Construction in the amount of <br /> $7'7,220.70 be accepted. On motion by Mr. Gilliam, seconded <br /> by Mrs. Rinehart the foregoing recommendation was <br /> accepted by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. Barbour, <br /> Mr. Gilliam, Mrs. Rinehart and Mr. Van Yahres. Noes: <br /> <br />None. Abstained: Mr. Fife. <br /> <br />Accepting bids for the <br />Rose Hill Drive Sidewalk <br />Project <br /> <br /> The City Manager presented the bids for the <br />construction of the Rose Hill Drive Sidewalk and <br />recommended that the low bid of Faulconer Construction <br /> <br />Company~in the amount of $56,821.46 be accepted. On <br />motion by Mr. Van Yahres, seconded by Mr. Fife the <br />foregoing reco~m-~-~endation was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> <br />
