Approving transfer of $29,000 from.CDRS Project - 9th Street to CDRS Project - Rose Hill Drive Sidewalks On motion by Mrs. Rinehart, seconded by Mr. Gilliam the Council approved the transfer of $29,000 in Community Development Revenue Sharing Funds from the Ninth Street Project to the Rose Hill Drive Sidewalk Project, by the folloWing recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. Barbour, Mr. Fife, Mr.. Gilliam, Mrs. Rinehart and Mr. Van Yahres. Noes: None Approving transfer of $15,000 On motion by Mrs. Rinehart, seconded by Mr. Gilliam from CDRS Project - Land lease to CDRS Project - Improvement~ for the Blind in the Belmont Area the Council approved the transfer of $15,000 in Community Development Revenue Sharing Funds from the Land Lease ProjeCt to the Improvements for the Blind in the Belmont Area Project, by the following recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. Barbour, Mr. Fife, Mr. Gilliam, Mrs. Rinehart and Resolution re: Authorizing City Manager to Execute Agreement w/ Va. Department of Highways and Transportation Accepting bids for 9th Street Project Mr. Van Yahres. Noes: None. On motion by Mr. Gilliam, seconded by Mrs. Rinehart the following resolution was unanimously adopted. WHEREAS, the City has previously entered into agreements with the Urban Mass Transit Administration of the United States Department of Transportation for a capital grant to assist the City in development of a mass transit bus system, Project VA-03-0013, which grant required a local matching share of twenty percent of the project cost; and WHEREAS, the City has now been notified by the Department of Highways and Transportatioh of the Commonwealth of Virginia that state funds are available to pay eighty-five percent of the aforesaid local share; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that the City Manager is authorized and directed to execute an agreement for the ~tllization of state aid for mass transportation capital costs in the Charlottesville area, in connection with the aforesaid Project VA-03-0013, for the receipt of $121,493 in state funds to provide eighty-five percent of the local share of such project. The City Manager presented the bids for the construction of 9th Street S. W. and recommended that the low bid of Faulconer Construction in the amount of $7'7,220.70 be accepted. On motion by Mr. Gilliam, seconded by Mrs. Rinehart the foregoing recommendation was accepted by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. Barbour, Mr. Gilliam, Mrs. Rinehart and Mr. Van Yahres. Noes: None. Abstained: Mr. Fife. Accepting bids for the Rose Hill Drive Sidewalk Project The City Manager presented the bids for the construction of the Rose Hill Drive Sidewalk and recommended that the low bid of Faulconer Construction Company~in the amount of $56,821.46 be accepted. On motion by Mr. Van Yahres, seconded by Mr. Fife the foregoing reco~m-~-~endation was unanimously adopted.
