138 <br /> <br />Resolution re: Agreeing <br />to.amend the Joint Exercise <br />of Powers for the Jefferson <br />Area Board for Aging <br /> <br />Ordinance re: Creating <br />an Industrial Develop- <br />ment Authority <br /> <br />ConAiderat±on re:'~ · ~D~-dinance <br />Increas lng _~th~~ chamges <br />for~providing concrete <br />vaults in City <br />Cemeteries <br /> <br />Communication re: Planning <br />Commis s ion rezoning <br />2206 and ~2208 Fontaine <br />Avenue - Turned Down <br /> <br /> RESOLVED, that it is the deSire and intent of <br />this City Council that these funds shall be used for <br />public_library purposes over and above the appropriation <br />of 'local fund~ made by this City for library purposes, <br />in accordance with the regulations of the Virginia State <br />Library~ <br /> <br /> A communication was presented from Diane Ansley, <br />Director of Jefferson Area Board for Aging, stating that <br />presently the board consist of two representatives from <br />Charlottesville, two from Albemarle and one each <br />frOm the Counties of Greene, Nelson and Fluvanna and <br />stated that the board in official action voted to <br />enlarge the number of its membership to double the <br />rep=esentation from each jurisdiction and recommended <br />an amendment to the Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement <br />for the Jefferson Area Board for Aging. On motion by <br />Mr. Barbour, seconded by Mr. Fife the Mayor was <br />authorized to execute the Joint Exercise of Powers <br />Agreement. <br /> <br /> An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO CREATE THE <br /> INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF <br /> CHARLOTTESVILLE, VIRGINIA PURSUANT TO THE VIRGINIA <br /> INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT AND REVENUE BOND ACT, TO ESTABLISH <br /> THE POWERS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF SUCH <br /> AUTHORITY, TO PROVIDE FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS <br /> THEREOF, AND TO ESTABLISH CERTAIN LIMITATIONS ON THE <br /> EXERCISE OF THE POWERS OF SUCH AUTHORITY," which was <br /> offered at the meeting of the Council on June 21, 1976, <br /> was adopted by the following recorded vote. Ayes: <br /> Mr. Barbour, Mr. Brunton, Mr. Fife, Mr. Gatewood and <br /> Mrs. O'Brien. Noes: None. <br /> <br /> An ordinance entitled 'NAN ORDINANCE A~NDING AND <br /> REENACTING SECTION 6-9 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br /> CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976 ENTITLED "CHARGES FOR GRAVE SPACE <br /> AND DIGGING GRAVES," was offered by Mr. Barbour, seconded <br /> by Mr. Brunton and carried over to the next meeting <br /> for consideration. - <br /> <br /> A communication was presented from the Planning <br /> Commission recommending that the petition to rezone from <br /> B-2 to B-3 property located at 2208 Fontaine Avenue be <br /> denied, because the existing zoning allows a reasonable <br /> use of the property and also serves as a buffer between <br /> the more commercial uses near Jefferson Park Avenue <br /> and the residential uses along Fontaine Avenue. On <br /> motion by Mr. Barbour, seconded by Mr. Gatewood the <br /> recommendation of the Planning Commission was unanimously <br /> <br />adopted. <br /> <br /> <br />
