O'Brien (signed) <br /> Pres ident <br /> <br />The Council met in special session on this date <br /> <br />with the following members present: Mr. Barbour, Mr. <br /> <br />Brunton, Mr. Fife, Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien. <br /> <br />Absent: None. <br /> <br />Resblution re: <br />Establishing Council's <br />Priorities regarding <br />sewer connections to <br />Moores Creek Sewage <br />Treatment Plant <br /> <br />On motion by Mr. Gatewood, seconded by Mr. Barbour <br /> <br />the following resolution was unanimously adopted <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council has with great r~=[uctance <br />imposed a moratorium on connections to the sanita <br />system flowing into the Moore's Creek Sewage Trea <br />Plant; until such time as the Rivanna Water and S <br />Authority advises that such treatment plant has s <br />capacity available lawfully to permit new connect <br />to such system; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Council realizes the poten:ially <br />devastating effect which this action may have on ~fforts <br />of the Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing <br />Authority and other public agenczes to provide n~ <br />sources of decent, safe and sanitary housing for low <br />and moderate income persons, on projects propose( for <br />development on city-owned property, on projects w ~ich <br />may have a significant effect on the economic <br />development of the community, and on other projec:s <br />and plans which may be deemed to serve the public <br />interest; and <br /> <br />~y sewer <br />_-ment <br />~wer <br />~fficient <br />Lons <br /> <br /> <br />
