Gilliam outgoing member of Council WHEREAS, you have served on City Council from July 1, 1972 to June 30, 1976, and WHEREAS, the people of this City are profoundly grateful to you. NOW, THEREFORE, we your fellow Councillors speaking for and on behalf of the citizens of Charlottesville, do hereby express to you our sincere gratitude for your devotion, your understanding attention and your unending willingness to give of yourself sacrificially for the betterment of the people of our City. Mr. Bob Banks, of the ~arlottesville Athletic League, addressed the Council on behalf of the Boxing Program in the City of Charlottesville. Mr. Banks requested that the Council appropriate $10,000 to help with facilities and equipment for the program. After a lenghty discussion, a motion by Mr. Brunton, seconded by Mr. Fife that this matter be referred to the was unanimously adopted.
