Appointment re: Board Library Appointments re: Planning Commission Consideration re: Ordinance - Social Development Commission Staff Report re: Greenbrier Bus Route Consideration re: Appropriation - $1,943 Juvenile Court Consideration re: Appropriation - $5~990 - Airport Fire Crash Truck 15:1__ On motion by Mr. Fife, Mr. Ed Bain and Mr. Lloyd Smith, were reappointed to the Library Board for a four year term, expiring August 31, 1980. On motion by Mr. Fife, Mrs. Mary Jane Haynes and Mr. Warren Martin were reappointed to the Planning Commission for a four year term , expiring August 31, 1980. An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REENACTING SECTION 2-103 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976 RELATING TO THE SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION," was offered by Mr. Fife, seconded by Mr. Barbour and carried over to the next meeting for consideration. Mr. E. C. Wade, Manager of the Transit System, addressed the Council and reported that a study had been made of the need for bus service in Greenbrier by graduates in Transportation Studies at the University and that the study indicates a demand for bus service to this section of the City. He stated that a specific route has been recommended which would serve the University, Downtown, Barracks Road Shopping Center and K-Mart. He also stated that Greenbrier is the only major area of the City not served by the Transit System~at this time. The cost of the proposed Greenbrier Route is estimated to be $28,100, with revenue of $11,700, leaving a deficit of $16,400 for the period October 1 to June 30. Mr. Wade stated that no new equipment will be needed to initiate this route. On motion by Mr. Brunton, seconded by Mr. Gatewood the following resolution was offered and carried over to the next meeting for consideration. BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that $28,100 be and the same is hereby appropriated from the General Fund for operation of the bus route in Greenbrier from October 1 thru June 30, 1977. The City Manager reported that there are no funds in the budget of the Juvenile Court for moving the Court to its new location on August 28, 1976. He also stated that an additional $2200 is needed to cover rent for the months of July and August since the new facilities were not completed. He stated that the City and Albemarle County each pay one-half of these costs. On motion by Mr. Gatewood, seconded by Mr. Brunton the following resolution was offered and carried over to the next meeting for consideration. BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that $1,943 be and the same is hereby appropriated from the General Fund for rent and moving co, mrs of the Juvenile Court. The City Manager advised the Council that the scheduled delivery date for the Fire Crash Vehicle at the Airport is mid October, 1976 and that the City's share of the cost of this vehicle is $5,990 and requested an appropriation in this amount. On motion by Mr. Brunton, seconded by Mr. Fife the following resolution was offered and carried over to the next meeting for cons ideration.
