ResolUtion re: Raffle Permit- Charlottesville Family YMCA Resolution re: Bingo Permit - Charlottesville- Albemarle Jaycees 1.75 BE RESOLVED that the following policies and pro~ hencaforth be adhered to by the Council in selecting the persons to be appointed to the Social ])evelopment Commis s ion: - (1) The Chairman of the Boards of Directors of the United Way, the Council of Churches and the Chamber of Commerce and the Chairman of the City School Board will be asked to nominate not more than three members of their respective boards who are residents of the City; (2) The President of the University of Virginia will be asked to nominate not more than three representatives of the University administration who are residents of the City; (3) The Chairman of the Welfare Advisory Board will be requested to nominate not more ahan six present or former recipients of welfare services who are City residents, and the Council will select two of such nominees for appointmenn to the Commission; (4) The ranking student government officer at Charlottesville High School will be asked to nominate not more than three members of the student body; (5) The local Chapter of the American Association of Retired Persons will be asked to nominate not more than three of its members who reside in the City; (6) The President of the Student Council at the University Of Virginia will be asked to nominate three members of that body who have at least two years remaining in their course of study and who are residents of the City; and (7) The Council will appoint two members of the City Planning Commission to serve on the Social Development Commission. (8) The Council will consider the people so nominated as well as other representatives of similar interests and may also advertise vacancies on the Commission for applications from interested citizens. As terms of members of the Commission expire reappointments and replacements shall be sought in each interest from the respective bodies or interests'groups from which such appointments were originally made. On motion by Mr. Fife, seconded by Mr. Gatewood the following resolution was unanimously adopted. WHEREAS, Charlottesville Family YMCA has duly applied for a permit to conduct raffles in compliance with §17-19 of the Code of the City of Charlottesville, 1976, as amended; and WHEREAS, ~t has been determined that Charlottesville Family YMCA meets the qualifications as outlined in ~17-19; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that a permit be granted to the Charlottesville Family YMCA to conduct raffles in accordance with all the provisions of ~17-19 of the Code of the City of Charlottesville for a period of one year from the date of this resolution; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Council be directed to send a copy of this resolution to the Director of the Charlottesville Family YMCA. On motion by Mr. Fife, seconded by Mr. Barbour the following resolution was unanimously adoptedl WHEREAS, Charlottesville-Albemarle Jaycees has duly applied for a permit to conduct bingo parties in compliance with §17-19 of the Code of the City of Charlottesville, 1976, as amended; and WHEREAS, it has been determined that Charlottesville- Albemarle Jaycees meets the qualifications as outlined in §17-19; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that a permit be granted to the Charlottesville-Albemarle Jaycees to conduct bingo parties in accordance with all the provisions of ~17-19 of the Code of the City of Charlottesville for a period o~ one year from the date of this resolution; and
