Ayes: Mr. <br />Barbour, Mr. Brunton, Mr. Fife, Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien. <br />Noes: None. <br /> <br />Consideration re: An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDAIN <br />Ordinance - Registration <br />inspection and operation ARTICLE IV OF CHAPTER 16 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTES- <br />of bicycles <br /> VILLE, 1976, BY REPEALING SECTIONS 16-58 THROUGH 16-63 AND <br /> <br />Consideration re: <br />Ordinance - Ware <br />Street <br /> <br />ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF SECTIONS NUMBERED 16-63.1 THROUGH <br />16-63.9 RELATING TO THE REGISTRATION, INSPECTION AND OPERATION <br />OF BICYCLES," was offered by Mr. Barbour, seconded by Mr. Fife <br />and carried over to the next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br /> An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REENACTING <br />SECTION 23-6 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, <br />ENTITLED "PLACEMENT OF CONTAINERS AND BUNDLES FOR COLLECTION", <br />was offered by Mr. Brunnon, seconded by Mr. Fife and carried <br /> <br />Discussion re: <br />Chamber of Commerce <br />Convention Bureau <br />Contract <br /> <br />over to the next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br /> The City Manager requested permission to discuss the Chamber <br />of Commerce Convention Bureau Contract. He stated that last <br />year the City Council and the Albemarle County Board of <br />Supervisors entered into a contract with the Chamber of Commerce <br /> <br />to provide convention and tourism services. He stated the <br /> <br />contract was not signed until the latter part of October and <br /> <br />was to run for one fiscal year, but since it was signed late <br />the Chamber did not get started on it until about November and <br />the contract was to be finished by June 30, 1976. He stated <br /> <br />the contract set out certain programs the Chamber of Commerce would <br /> <br />carry out during the year and made the following recommendations <br />for extension of the contract: 1. The contract be extended <br /> <br />to December 31, 1976 to give the Chamber'additional time to <br /> <br />complete current commitmenns; 2. The Chamber estimates $2,000 <br />will be left at the end of December, request that money be <br />returned immediately and any other funds left over be returned <br /> <br />at December 31, 1976; 3. Require complete audit at December <br /> <br />31 of what has been spent and what achieved; 4. After a review <br /> <br />of the audit, Council consider entering into a six months <br /> <br />contract to June 30, 1977;i 5. Some of the matching funds in the <br />1974-75 fiscal year have not been spent, Council may want to <br /> <br /> <br />
