180 Resolution re: Viewers - Wood Street & Adjacent Alley ResolUtion re: Raffle Permit - Beta Sigma Phi Resolution re: Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing Authority to' proceed to close out Vinegar Hill Project taxes. A motion by Mr. Fife, seconded by Mr. Barbour that the remaining $4,000 be released to Madison House by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. Barbour, Mr. Brunton, ~. Fife and Mrs. 0'Brien. ~oes: Mr. Gatewood. On motion by Mr. Fife, seconded by Mr. Barbour the following resolution was unanimously adopted. A RESOLUTION appointing viewers to consider a request for the vacation of a street and an alley. WHEREAS, this Council has received a petition requesting vacgtion of Wood Street located between Grady Avenue and West Street and an alley approximately 15 feet wide running in an easterly direction from Wood~-Street for approximately 111 feet and bordering along Parcels 67 and 68 on City Tax Map 31; and WHEREAS,~ it~ appears to Council that the notices required by Section 15.1-364 of the Code of Virginia (1950), as amended, have been duly posted; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of charlottesville that Messrs. J. P. Borden, Mason S. Byrd and H. P. Winn report in writing to Council what inconvenience, if any, would result from such vacation. On motion by Mr. Barbour, seconded by Mr. Brunton the following resolution was unanimously adopted. WHEREAS, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority has duly applied for a permit to conduct raffles in compliance with §17-19 of the Code of the City'of Charlottesville, 1976, as amended; and WHEREAS, it has been determined that Beta Sigma Phi Sorority meets the qualification as outlined in §17-19; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that a permit be granted to Beta Sigma Phi Sorority to conduct raffles in accordance with all the proviSions of §17-19 of the Code of the City of Charlottesville for a period of one year from the date of this resolution; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Council be directed to send a copy of this resolution to Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. On motion by Mr. Brunton, seconded by Mr. Fife the following resolution was unanimously adopted. WHEREAS, it has become apparent to this Council that there are substantial monetary benefits which could accrue to the City of Charlottesville and the Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing Authority from expediting the financial settlement ~ and closeout of the Authority's Vinegar Hill Urban Renewal Project, No. VA R-12; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, that the Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing Authority be requested to begin immediately the necessary steps for financial settlement and closeout of such project pursuant to applicable regulations of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development; and be it further RESOLVED that the City Manager and City Attorney be authorized and directed to begin negotiation of an agreement between the City and the Authority setting forth the relative responsibilities of such two bodies with respect to such closeout and other pertinent matters, and to submit such agreement for Council's approval once they are substantially in accord with the Authority as to its terms.
