Johnson - Albemarle <br />Street <br /> <br />Request re: Permit <br />Parking - Park Plaza <br /> <br />Staff Report re: <br />Delinquent Tax Report - <br />City Treasurer <br /> <br /> COUNCIL CHAMBER - MONDAY, DECEMBER 6, 1976 <br /> <br /> The Council met in regular session on this date with the <br /> following members present: Mr. Barbour, /Mr. Fife, Mr. Gate- <br /> wood and Mrs. O'Brien. Absent: Mr. Brunton. <br /> <br /> The minutes of the meetings of November 8th, 15th, 22nd, <br /> <br /> 24th and 29th, 1976 were approved as presented. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mrs. O'Brien, Mr. Sandy McAdams was appointed <br /> <br /> to the Housing Board of Adjustments and Appeals by unanimous <br /> <br /> vote .... <br /> <br /> Ms. Rainy Enicks addressed the Council and presented <br /> <br /> the annual report for the Information and Referral Center <br /> for the period July 15, 1975 thru July 14, 1976. She stated <br /> that the Information and Referral Center's aims are to link <br /> people in need with the appropriate services, either by <br /> giving information directly or by referring the client to the <br /> source than will help him. She stated it is the long range <br /> goal of the Information and Referral Center to assist the <br /> community planning processes by discovering gaps, overlaps <br /> and duplications in services. The report listed the most <br /> requested, services and unmet needs. <br /> <br /> Rev. R. A. Johnson and Mr. William Johnson addressed the <br /> Council and requested that Council reconsider opening of <br /> Albemarle Street to Preston Avenue. After discussion, a <br /> motion by Mr. Barbour that the Council reconsider its decision <br /> to build the cul-de-sac in Albemarle Street, died for lack <br /> of a second. <br /> <br /> A petition was presented from Mr. Bill Teveri requesting <br /> <br /> the Council to reconsider the institution of permit parking <br /> along both sides of Park Plaza, between Hedge Street and <br /> Second Street, N.E. and requesting that the permit parking <br /> be restricted to either the east or west side of Park Plaza <br /> rather than on both:sides of the street as is now the case. <br /> <br /> A staff report was presented recommending against the change. <br /> On motion by Mr. Fife, seconded by Mr. Gatewood the staff <br /> recommendation was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> The Treasurer's list of 1975 Delinquent and Erroneous <br /> <br />was presented and referred to a committee composed of Mr. <br />Fife, Mr. Mazziotti, Miss Maupin and Mr. Gatewood for <br />recommendation, to report in 90 days, Mr. Fife was made <br />~airman. <br /> <br />i ' --I <br /> <br /> <br />
