Authorization re: Mayor <br />to sign easement for <br />Albemarle Service <br />Authority <br /> <br />Resolution re: <br />Moratorium at the <br />South Rivanna <br />Reservoir <br /> <br />Ordinance re: <br />Registration, Inspection <br />& operation of Bicycles <br /> <br />Consideration re: <br />Ordinance - Unopened <br />Ware Street <br /> <br />189 <br /> <br /> WHB-RE~AS, it has been determined that the Post- <br />Convict£on AB~i:st~nce Project meets the qualifications as <br />outlined in §17-19; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of <br />the City of Charlottesville that a permit be granted to the <br />Post-Conviction Assistance Project to conduct raffles in <br />accordance with all the provisions of §17-19 of the City of <br />Charlottesville for a period of one year from the date of <br />this resolution; and <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the <br />Council be directed to send a copy of this resolution to the <br />Board of Directors. <br /> <br />The City Manager advised the Council that the Albemarle <br /> <br />County Service Authority needs to install a water storage <br /> <br />tank and water transmission line On property owned by the <br /> <br />City at the Ragged Mountain Reservoir to serve the Ednam and <br /> <br />Ednam Forest Subdivisions. On motion by Mr. Gatewood, seconded <br /> <br />by Mr. Fife the Mayor was authorized to sign a deed of <br /> <br />easement for these facilities. <br /> <br />On motion by Mr. Barbour, seconded by Mr. Fife the following <br /> <br />resolution was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Council has previously expressed its <br />support for the acnion of the Albemarle County Board of <br />Supervisors in imposing strict development control measures <br />on property in the vicinity of the South Rivanna Reservoir as <br />set forth in Article II of Chapter 7 of the Albemarle County <br />Code; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, such controls are due to expire on January <br />1, 1977, but the Board of Supervisors will give consideration <br />to a proposal to extend them until July 1 , 1977; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council believes that such additional <br />period of time is necessary in order to properly assess <br />the results of the study of the reservoir whiCh has been <br />conducted by the Rivanna Water and Sewer Authority and to <br />consider fully the long range measures necessary to protect <br />this vital community resource; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED,by the CounCil of <br />the City of Charlottesville, that the Board of Supervisors <br />of the County of Albemarle be respectfully requested to take <br />action to extend until July 1, 1977 the provisions of <br />Article II of Chapter 7 of the County Code; and be it further <br /> <br /> RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Council be directed <br />to send a certified copy of this resolution to the Board <br />of Supervisors. <br /> <br />An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDAIN <br /> <br />ARTICLE IV OF CHAPTER 16 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br /> <br />CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, BY REPEALING SECTION 16-58 THROUGH 16-63 <br /> <br />AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF SECTIONS NUMBERED 16-63.1 THROUGH <br /> <br />16-63.9 RELATING TO THE REGISTRATION, INSPECTION AND OPERATION <br /> <br />OF BICYCLES," which <br /> <br />on November 15, 1976 <br />Ayes: Mr. Barbour, <br /> <br />None.
