192. <br /> <br />Discussion re: <br />CETA Funds <br /> <br />Adjourned meeting <br /> <br /> A ~otian by Mr, F~i.fe, seconded b~, ~. B.runton .that unanimous <br /> consent be given to the consideration of other matters to come <br /> before this Council, was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> The City Manager advised the Council that the CETA funded <br />positions with the City will be extended to September 30, 1977. <br />He stated that the City would receive $186,114 for these <br />positionS and recommended that he be authorized to sign application <br />for funds. On motion by Mr. Brunton, seconded by Mr. <br /> <br /> Barbour the foregoing recommendation was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> On motion the meeting, adjourned until after the <br /> <br />Planning Commission meeting on Tuesday, December 14, 1976. <br /> <br /> COUNCIL CHAMBER- DECEMBER 14, 1976 <br /> <br /> The adjourned meeting of December 13, 1976 convened <br /> <br />on this date with the following members present. Mr. Brunton, <br /> <br />Mr. Fife, Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien. Absent: None. <br /> <br /> The minutes of December 6, 1976 were approved as amended. <br /> On motion by Mr. Brunton, Mr. Fife was appointed to the <br /> Area Manpower Commission by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. <br /> Barbour, Mr. Brunton, Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien. Noes: <br /> None. Abstained: Mr. Fife <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Fife, Dr. Ken Wallenborn was appointed <br /> <br /> to the Airport Commission, by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> On motion by ~. Fife, Mr. Robert Hodous wa~s appointed to <br /> <br /> the Mental Health and Retardation Services Board, by unanimous <br /> <br />vote. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mrs. O'Brien, Mr. William Elwood and Rev. <br /> <br />Clyde Helms were appointed to the Social Development Commission, <br /> <br />by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> The City Manager presented a staff report concerning <br /> <br />the sewer moratorium now in effect in the Moores Creek <br />Drainage Basin. He stated that the Director of Public Works <br />has devised a method for pumping sewage from the Moores <br />Creek to the Meadow Creek Basin by using an abandoned gas <br />line from Fairway Avenue at Caroline Avenue to the Meadow <br />Creek Basin. The report stated that by using the abandoned <br />gas line a lift station could be installed in the unopened <br />portion of Caroline Avenue and sewage could be pumped over <br /> <br /> <br />
