2i2 <br /> <br />Ordinance re: Increase <br />in Taxicab Rates <br /> <br />Consideration re: <br />Ordinance - Closing, <br />Vacating and <br />discontinuing Wood <br />Street <br /> <br />Mr. Richard Collins <br />Housing Authority <br />Chairman - Consultant <br /> <br />Announcement re: <br />Bicentennial Comm. <br />$3,000 for Emergency <br />Fuel Fund <br /> <br />Executive Session <br /> <br /> An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDAIN <br />SECTION 27-16 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, <br />RELATING TO TAXICAB RATES," which was offered at the meeting of <br />the Council on January 18,.1977, was adopted am amended by the <br />following recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. Barbour, Mr. Brunton, Mr. <br />Fife, Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien. Noes: None. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Gatewood, seconded by Mr. Barbour the <br />foregoing ordinance was amended to add a~twenty-five cent <br />surcharge on each trip until the meters are adjusted or changed', <br />or ninety days whichever occurs first. <br /> <br /> An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE CLOSING, VACATING AND <br />DISCONTINUING WOOD STREET LYING BETWEEN GRADY AVENUE AND WEST <br />STREET AND A 15 FOOT ALLEY RUNNING IN AN EASTERLY DIRECTION <br />FROM WOOD STREET FOR APPROXIMATELY 111 FEET IN THE CITY OF <br />CHARLOTTESVILLE," was offered by Mr. Gatewood, seconded by Mr. <br />Brunton and carried over to the next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br /> Mr. Richard C. Collins, Chairman of the Charlottesville <br /> Redevelopment and Housing Authority, addressed the Council to <br /> inform them that his agency is considering entering into a <br /> contract with Mr. Peter Labowitz for consulting services to <br /> identify what actions are necessary by the goups who are <br /> involved in the Vinegar Hill Urban Renewal Area. <br /> <br /> The Mayor announced that the Albemarle-Charlottesville <br /> Bicentennial Commission has appropriated~$3,000 to the Emergency <br /> Fuel Fund of the Social Services Departments of the City and <br /> County, $1500 to each department. The money is to be used <br /> for the purchase of emergency fuels for persons Social Services <br /> Departments have determined to have such a need. On motion <br /> by Mr. Barbour, seconded by Mr. Brunton the foregoing donation <br /> was acce~pted with th~nks. <br /> <br /> A motion by Mr. Brunton, seconded by Mr. Gatewood that <br /> Council meet in executive session to discuss a matter exempted <br /> by Section 2.1-344(a)(6) of the Virginia Freedom of Information <br /> Act, was adopted by the following recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. <br /> Barbour, Mr. B~unton, Mr. Fife, Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. 0'Brien. <br /> Noes: None. <br /> <br /> On motion the meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />Pres ident <br /> <br /> <br />
