Resolution re: Post-Retirement Supplements Resolution re- Bingo Permit - Lions Club 257 On motion by Mr. Gatew0od' seconded by Mr. Barbour the following resolution was unanimously adopted. WHEREAS, the City Council has previously adopted a budget for fiscal year 1977-78 which includes funding for an average salary increase of 2.5%, exclusive of merit increases for current City employees; NOW, ~HEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, pursuant to §20-33(b) of the Code of the City of Charlottesville, 1976, that the Retirement Fund Commission is authorized and direcned to provide for the payment of a post retirement supplement of 2.5% of the current retirement pay of each presently retired City employee effective for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1977. On motion by Mr. Barbour, seconded by Mr~ Brunton the following resolution was unanimously adopted. WHEREAS, the CharlottesVille Lions Club has duly applied for a permit to conduct raffles and bingo parties in compliance with ~17-19 of the Code of the City of Charlottesville, 1976, as amended; and WHEREAS, it has been determined that the Charlottesville Lions Club meets the qualifications as outlined in §17-19~ NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that a permit be granted to the Charlottesville Lions Club to conduct raffles and bingo parties in accordance with all the provisions of §17-19 of the Code of the City of Charlottesville for a period of one year from the date of this resolution; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Council be directed to send a copy of this resolution to the Secretary of the Charlottesville Lions Club. Resolution re: Charlottesville Emergency Operations Plan Ms. Marcia Mashaw, addressed the Council and presented a revised Emergency Operations Plan for the City. On motion by Mr. Brunton, seconded by Mr. Gatewood the following resolution was unanimously adopted. WHEREAS, there exist many dangers of many types including man-made disasters, natural disasters, and possible hostile actions of an unknown enemy; and WHEREA~S, the safety and protection of the citizens and property is of foremost concern to the City Council of the City of Charlottesville; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires and Commonwealth of Virginia statutes require the adoption of appropriate planned protective measures; therefore be it Ordinance re: Repealing Moratorium on Sewer Connections RESOLVED that the City Council hereby adopts the revised City of Charlottesville Emergency Operations Plan as the necessary basic plan for city emergency services. An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO REPEAL SECTION 24-1.1 AS AMENDED, WHICH IMPOSED A MORATORIUM ON SANITARY SEWER CONNECTIONS IN THE MOORES CREEK DRAINAGE BASIN," which was offered at the meeting of the Council on June 6, 1977, was adopted by the following recorded vote. Ayes: Barbour, Mr. Brunton, Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien. Noes: None. Absent: Mr. Fife. Ordinance:Regulating Private Detectives An ordinance entitled "AN ORDIANCE TO REPEAL CHAPTER 7 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE 1976, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO DETECTIVES AND DETECTIVE AGENCIES," which was offered at the meeting of the Council on June 6, 1977, was adopted by the following recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. Barbour, Mr. Brunton, Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien. Noes: None.
