Resolution re: <br />Post-Retirement <br />Supplements <br /> <br />Resolution re- <br />Bingo Permit - Lions <br />Club <br /> <br />257 <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Gatew0od' seconded by Mr. Barbour the following <br /> resolution was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council has previously adopted a budget <br /> for fiscal year 1977-78 which includes funding for an average salary <br /> increase of 2.5%, exclusive of merit increases for current City employees; <br /> <br /> NOW, ~HEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br /> Charlottesville, pursuant to §20-33(b) of the Code of the City of <br /> Charlottesville, 1976, that the Retirement Fund Commission is authorized <br /> and direcned to provide for the payment of a post retirement supplement <br /> of 2.5% of the current retirement pay of each presently retired <br /> City employee effective for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1977. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Barbour, seconded by Mr~ Brunton the following <br /> resolution was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the CharlottesVille Lions Club has duly applied for <br /> a permit to conduct raffles and bingo parties in compliance with ~17-19 <br /> of the Code of the City of Charlottesville, 1976, as amended; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it has been determined that the Charlottesville <br />Lions Club meets the qualifications as outlined in §17-19~ <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville that a permit be granted to the Charlottesville <br />Lions Club to conduct raffles and bingo parties in accordance with <br />all the provisions of §17-19 of the Code of the City of Charlottesville <br />for a period of one year from the date of this resolution; and <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Council be directed <br />to send a copy of this resolution to the Secretary of the Charlottesville <br />Lions Club. <br /> <br />Resolution re: <br />Charlottesville <br />Emergency Operations <br />Plan <br /> <br /> Ms. Marcia Mashaw, addressed the Council and presented a revised <br />Emergency Operations Plan for the City. On motion by Mr. Brunton, seconded <br />by Mr. Gatewood the following resolution was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, there exist many dangers of many types including <br />man-made disasters, natural disasters, and possible hostile actions <br />of an unknown enemy; and <br /> <br /> WHEREA~S, the safety and protection of the citizens and property <br />is of foremost concern to the City Council of the City of Charlottesville; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council desires and Commonwealth of Virginia <br />statutes require the adoption of appropriate planned protective <br />measures; therefore be it <br /> <br />Ordinance re: Repealing <br />Moratorium on Sewer <br />Connections <br /> <br /> RESOLVED that the City Council hereby adopts the revised City <br /> of Charlottesville Emergency Operations Plan as the necessary basic <br />plan for city emergency services. <br /> <br /> An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO REPEAL SECTION 24-1.1 AS <br />AMENDED, WHICH IMPOSED A MORATORIUM ON SANITARY SEWER CONNECTIONS IN THE <br />MOORES CREEK DRAINAGE BASIN," which was offered at the meeting of the Council <br />on June 6, 1977, was adopted by the following recorded vote. Ayes: <br />Barbour, Mr. Brunton, Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien. Noes: None. Absent: <br />Mr. Fife. <br /> <br />Ordinance:Regulating <br />Private Detectives <br /> <br /> An ordinance entitled "AN ORDIANCE TO REPEAL CHAPTER 7 OF THE CODE <br />OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE 1976, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO DETECTIVES <br /> <br />AND DETECTIVE AGENCIES," which was offered at the meeting of the Council on <br />June 6, 1977, was adopted by the following recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. <br />Barbour, Mr. Brunton, Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien. Noes: None.
