Absent: Mr. Fife An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDAIN SECTION 20-29 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO DISABILITY RETIREMENT ALLOWANCES," which was offered at the meeting of the Council on June 6, 1977, was adopted by the following recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. Barbour, Mr.Brunton, Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien. Noes: None. Absent: Mr. Fife. Mr. Eddie Bain addressed the Council on behalf of Russell Shifflett Consideration re: Ordinance - Permit Certain Employees to w/.draw from the City Retirement System and requested that this ordinance be amended as follows: "but shall be applicable for the purpose of computing the retirement allowance of any members ~etired for disability as provided in ~20-28(b) prior to that date." The Mayor advised Mr. Bain that the Retirement Plan Commission would consider his request and report back to Council. An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ARTICLE II OF CHAPTER 20 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 197~, AS AMENDED, BY ADDING A SECTION 20-21.1 TO PERMIT CERTAIN EMPLOYEES TO WITHDRAW FROM THE CITY SUPPLEMENTAL RETIREMENT SYSTEM IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN DEFERRED COMPENSATION PLANS," was offered by Mr. Barbour, seconded by Mr. B=unton and carried over to the next meeting for consideration. Resolution re: City 'Pay Plan 1977-78 Approval of City Blue Cross-Blue Shield Coverage On motion by Mr. Gatewood, seconded by Mr. Barbour the following resolution was unanimously adopted. BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that a document consisting of twelve pages comprising the Employees classification Pay Plan for the City of Charlottesville to be effective July 1, 1977, assigning salary ranges to each class position in the City service is hereby approved pursuant to ~§20-27 of the City Code and a copy of the same shall be kept on file with the records of this meeting. A communication was presented from the City Manager outlining certain changes in the Blue Cross - Blue Shield Insurance Coverage for employees and .recommending how these changes should be implemented, cop~ of which is on file with the minutes of this meeting. On motion by Mr. Barbour, seconded by Mr. Brunton the recommendations as outlined were unanimously adopted. Mayor execute deed of exchange On motion by Mr. Brunton, seconded by M~.~Barbour the Mayor was authorized to execute exchange deed with Mr. and Mrs. William Kerrigan for property on Rugby Road on construct a sidewalk.
