2.79 Ordinance re: Welfare Advisory Board Consideration re: Ordinance Closing a portion of unopened Woodland Drive Change in meeting date Refund to Willoughby Corporation - $1,158.52 Executive Session development. She stated that if the Council agrees, then it will be necessary to hold a public hearing on the proposed charter change and request the Division of Legislative Services and our State Legislators for change by the legislature, this request should be made in October. A motion by Mr. Fife, seconded by Mr. Gatewood that the ~Council proceed with this project with all dispatch, was unanimously adopted. An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 30 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, AS AMENDED, BY REPEALING SECTION 30-8 AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW SECTION NUMBERED 30-8.1 IN ORDER TO RECONSTITUTE THE WELFARE ADVISORY BOARD AS A SOCIAL SERVICES ADVISORY BOARD AS REQUIRED BY STATE LAW," which was offered at the meeting of the Council on August 15, 1977, was adopted by the following recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. Barbour, Mr. Brunton, Mr. Fife, Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien. Noes: None. An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE CLOSING, VACATING AND DISCONTINUING A PORTION OF UNOPENED WOODLAND DRIVE IN THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE," was offered by Mr. Brunton, seconded by Mr. Fife and carried ~.over to the next meeting for consideration. The Mayor announced that the regular meeting of September 19th would be changed to September 12th since a majority of the Council members would be out of town on the 19th. On motion by Mr. Barbour, seconded by Mr. Brunton the Director of Finance was authorized to refund $1,158.52 to Willoughby Corporation for erroneous real estate taxes for 1976. A motion by Mr. Brunton, seconded by Mr. Fife that Council meet in executive session to discuss a matter exempted by Section 2.1-344(a)(1) and Section 2.1-344(a)(6) of the Virgini~ Freedom of Information Act was adopted by the:!following recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. Barbour, Mr. Brunton, Mr. Fife, Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien. Noes: None. On motion the meeting adjouned. ' President Regular meeting Approval of minutes Appointments re: R.S.V.P. Advisory Board COUNCIL CH;J~BER - MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 12, 1977 The Council met in regular session on this date with the following members present: Mr. Barbour, Mr. Brunnon~ Mr. Fife, Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien. Absent: None. The minutes of the meetings of August 29th and September 6th were approved as presented. On motion by Mr. Gatewood, Dr. James Cole, Mr. Thomas McLernon, Mr. Hubert S. McCray and Mrs. Marti Wallace, were appointed to the R. S. V. P. Advisory Board, by unanimous vone.
