Noes: None. <br /> <br /> An ordinance entitled '~N ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDAIN <br /> SECTION 31-33 AND 31-140.1 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTES- <br /> VILLE, 1976, AS AMENDED, AND FURTHER TO AMEND CHAPTER 31, <br /> ARTICLE XX, OF SAID CODE, WHICH CHAPTER CONSTITUTES THE ZONING <br /> ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, BY ADDING A SECTION <br /> 31-228.1, THE AMENDED AND NEW SECTIONS RELATING GENERALLY TO THE <br /> APPLICABILITY OF SPECIAL PERMITS FOR HIGHER DENSITY RESIDENTIAL <br /> USES, TO THE MODIFICATION OF DISTRICT REGULATIONS GENERALLY AS <br /> <br /> A CONDITION OF SPECIAL USE PERMIT APPROVALS," was offered by Mr. <br /> Fife, seconded by Mr. Brunton and carried over to the next meeting <br /> for consideration. <br /> <br /> An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ARTICLE III OF <br />CHAPTER 20 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, AS <br />AMENDED BY ADDING A SECTION NUMBERED 20-32.1 TO PROVIDE A DEATH <br />BENEFIT IN LIEU OF GROUP LIFE INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR CERTAIN <br />EMPLOYEES UNDER THE CITY SUPPLEMENTAL RETIREMENT PLAN," was offered <br />by Mr. Fife, seconded by Mr. Gatewood and carried over to the <br />next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br /> An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE CLOSING, VACATING AND <br />DISCONTINUING UNOPENED OAK RIDGE STREET IN THE CITY OF CHARLOTTES- <br />VILLE,'' was offered by Mr. Barbour, seconded by Mr. Brunton and <br />carried over to the next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br /> Mr. Gatewood on behalf of the Jail Board requested City <br />Council to endorse the Jail Board's recommendation that the <br />Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission submit a planning <br />grant proposal to the Division of JUstice and Crime Prevention <br />for funds to investigate future expansion of the Joint SecUrity <br />Complex. He stated that there are time constraints on getting <br />the study done in order to qualify for federal funds. A motion <br />by Mr. Gatewood, seconded by Mr. Fife that Council approve the <br />Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission submitting a <br />proposal for a grant for a study of the Jail needs contingent on <br />the other interested jurisdictions paying a share of the cost, <br />was unanimOusly adopted. <br /> <br /> A motion by Mr. Fife, seconded by Mr. Brunton that Council <br />meet in executive session to discuss a matter exempted by Section <br />2.1-344(a)(1) of the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, was <br />adopted by the following recorded vone.
