334 BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottes- ville that there is hereby appropriated from the unencumbered balance of the Capital Fund to expenditure account 01-92010 the sum of $30,000 to be paid as the City's share of the cost of the Charlottesville-Albemarle Joint Transportation Study. Consideration re: On motion by Mr. Brunton, seconded by Mr. Fife the following Appropriation - $1,300 - Community resolution was offered and carried over to the next meeting for Development consideration. BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottes- ville that the sum of $1,300 is hereby appropriated from the unencumbered balance of the General Fund to expenditure account 01-19010 for the remainder of the expense incurred in printing the Comprehensive Plan news Supplement; provided, however, that such appropriation shall be subject to the receipt by the General Fund of a like amount in revenue from private donations. Resolution re: On motion by'Mr. Barbour, seconded by Mr. Fife the following Viewers Garrett Street Project resolution was unanimously adopted. A RESOLUTION appointing viewers to consider a request for the vacation of certain streets and alleys in the Garrett Street Project Area. WHEREAS, this Council has received a petition requesting vacation of certain streets and alleys in the Garrett Street Project Area; and WHEREAS, it appears to Council that the notices required by Section 15.1-364 of the Code of Virginia (1950), as amended, have been duly posted; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the~.Council of the City of Charlottesville that Messrs. Mason S. Byr~, W. J. Copeland and H. P. Winn report in writing to Council what inconvenience, if any, would result from such vacation. On motion by Mr. Barbour, seconded by Mr. Fife the following resolution was adopted by the following recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. Barbour, Mr. Fife and Mrs. O'Brien. Noes: Mr. Brunton and Mr. Resolution re: Community Development Block Grant Fund for Year IV Gatewood. WHEREAS, it is anticipated that the City of Charlottes- ville will be eligible for Community Development Block Grant funding for Year IV of the Community Development Act of 1974 in the amount of $939,910~ and WHEREAS, the City Council has received recommendations for the expenditure of such funds from the Community Development Act Planning Task Force, the City Planning Commission, and the Social Development Commission; and WHEREAS, a public hearing to consider such proposed expenditures of Community Development Block Grant Funds was duly advertised and held by the City Council on February 14, 1978, as required by law; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that the following list of projects is hereby adopted for the expenditure of Year IV Community Development Block Grant funds in the estimated amounts herein after set forth: PROJECT ESTIMATED COST HOUSING Housing Rehabilitation Housing Purchase - Rehabilitate-Resale Housing Coordinator $120,000 87,500 20,000 REMOVAL OF BARRIERS TO THE HANDICAPPED Curb cut cons'tructi~on 10,000 DRAI.NAGE IMPROVEb~NTS Fifeville Drainage Improvements Schenk's Branch Phase I Belmont Drainage Improvements Chesapeake Street and Meade Avenue 41,000 264,000 168,000 80,000
