<br /> BE IT RESOLVED hy the Council of the City of
<br />Charlottesville, .that there is hereby appropriated, from
<br />the unappropriated.balance of the General Fund for the fiscal
<br />year 1977-78, to expenditure account 01-24040 the sum of
<br />$337.81 for the installation and operation of improved street
<br />lighting, on North Berkshire Road, Augusta Street, Lyons Avenue,
<br />Carlton Avenue, Kerry Lane and Welford Street.

<br /> On motion by Mr. Gatewood, seconded by Mr. Brunton the
<br />
<br />City Manager was authorized to execute contract with the
<br />Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing Authority changing
<br />the Community Service Officers employment with th~ Housing
<br />Authority to positions of employment with the City.
<br /> On motion by Mr. Fife, seconded by Mr. Brunton the following
<br /> resolution was unanimously adopted.
<br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
<br /> Charlottesville that the City Manager and Director of Finance
<br /> are hereby authorized pursuant to 22-123 of the Code of the
<br /> City of Charlottesville, 1976, as amended, to institute
<br /> physical damage insurance coverage on all fire trucks owned or
<br /> hereafter acquired by the City and to expend funds from the
<br /> Risk Management Fund for payment of annual premiums on such
<br /> coverage.
<br /> On motion by Mr. Fife, seconded by Mr. Brunton the following
<br /> resolution was unanimously adopted.
<br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
<br /> Charlottesville that the proposed ordinance, entitled:
<br /> AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A TELEPHONE FRANCHISE TO

<br />ITS SUCESSORS AND ASSIGNS, TO USE THE STREETS

<br /> AND OTHER PUBLIC PLACES OF THE CITY OF
<br />CHARLOTTESVILLE, ALBEMARLE COUNTY, VIRGINIA,
<br /> FOR ITS POLES, WIRES, CONDUITS, CABLES AND
<br /> FIXTURES, FOR PERIOD OF THIRTY (30) YEARS.

<br />be advertised once a week for four successive weeks in The
<br />Daily Progress, a newspape~ published in the City of
<br />Charlottesville, Virginia, and having general circulation
<br />in and around such City; and said advertisement shall invite
<br />bids for the franchise proposed to be granted in said
<br />ordinance, Which bids shall be in'writing and delivered to the
<br />presiding officer of the Council of the City of Charlottesville,
<br />Virginia, in open session of said Council to be heldin the
<br />Council Chambers at Charlottesville, Virginia, on the 15th
<br />day of May, 1978, at 7:30 O'clock p.m., the right being
<br />reserved to reject any and all bids.

<br /> RESOLVED FURTHER that the invitation for bids to be
<br />published with said ordinance shall be as follows:

<br /> The City of Charlottesville, Virginia, hereby invites
<br />sealed bids for the telephone franchise proposed to he granted
<br />in the following ordinance, which bids are to be in writing and
<br />delivered to the presiding officer of the City Council in
<br />open session, to be held in the Council Chamber at
<br />Charlottesville, Virginia, on the 15th day of May, 1978, at
<br />7:30 o'clock p.m., the right being reserved to reject any and
<br />all bids.

<br />An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDAIN

<br />SECTION 5-13 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976,
<br />AS AMENDED, RELATING TO FEES FOR ELECTRICAL SERVICE PERMITS-,"
<br />which was offered at the meeting of the Council on March 20,
<br />
<br />1978, was adopted by the following recorded vote. Ayes:
<br />Mr. Barbour, Mr. B~unton, Mr. Fife, Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien.
