Market Street Thence, Southwesterly along said line of East Market Street approximately 366.21 feet to a point; Thence, southwesterly approximately 75.39 feet to a point approximately 19.1 feet from the westerly right-of-way line of East Market Street; Thence, ~southwesterly along a line, parallel to and 20 feet from the westerly face of the Goodyear Building, approximately 90.0 feet to the intersection of said line with the easterly right-of-way line of Preston Avenue; Thence, southeasterly along said line of Preston Avenue approximately 318.83 feet to a point; Thence, southeasterly along the northern right-of~way line of West Main Street and continuing to the northeasterly corner of the First Street and Main Street right-of-way line intersection approximately 410.0 feet; Thence, in a southerly direction to the southeasterly corner of First Street and Main Street right-of-way line intersection approximately 65.0 feet; Thence, southwesterly along the southern right-of-way line of West Main Street continuing to the easterly property line of parcel N-8, approximately 435.0 feet; Thence, southwesterly along the easterly and southerly property lines of parcels N-8 and N-7 for distance of approximately 82.25 feet, 31.3 feet, 4.0 feet, 18.5 feet and 25.0 feet to the easterly property line of parcel N-4; Thence, southwesterly along the easterly property line of parcel N-4 and such property line extended to the center- line of Water Street approximately 114.0 feet to the point of beginning. On motion by Mr. Brunton, Mr. Frank Craddock was appointed to the Thomas Jefferson Planning District - Advisory Council on Aging and Rev. William Smith was appointed to the Jefferson Area Board for Aging. On motion by Mrs. O'Brien, Mr. Ken Curtis was appointed to the Housing Board of Adjustments and Appeals, by unanimous vote. The City Manager reported that the Traffic Engineering Department has moved to new quarters in the Public Works Complex and stated that the Traffic Engineering Building at East Market and 9th Street is now vacant. He stated that the building is in very poor condition and that renovation would 6ost $23,930. He stated that bids had been received for demolition and the cost would be $2,000. He gave the following options: demolish the building, do the renovation and rent the building, use for recreation programs or use for some other purpose, but recommended that it be demolished. Action on this matter was deferred for Appropriation re: $29,000 -Fringe Benefits further information. The resolution appropriating $29,000 for fringe benefits which was offered at the meeting of the Council on April 17, 1978, was adopted by the following recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. Barbour, Mr. Brunton, Mr.Fife, Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien. Appropriation re: $30,000 Re study Noes: None. The resolution appropriating $30,000 for Transportation Transportation Restudy which was offered at the meeting of the Council on April 17, 1978, was adopted by the following recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. Barbour, Mr. Brunton, Mr. Fife, Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien.
