Jefferson St. <br />from R-2 to B-1 <br /> <br />Resolution re: <br />"TheSouthern <br />Crescent" <br /> <br />Mayor announced <br />public hearing that <br />Air Pollution <br />Control Board to <br />hold to proposed <br />mall <br /> <br />Executive Session <br /> <br /> An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDAIN <br />SECTION 16-56 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, <br />AS AMENDED, RELATING TO PERMIT PARKING ZONES, TO ESTABLISH A <br />NEW PERMIT ZONE ON EDGEWOOD LANE.," which was offered at the <br />meeting of the Council on April 17, 1978, was adopted by the <br />following recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. Barbour, Mr. Brunton, Mr. Fife, <br />Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien. Noes: None. <br /> <br /> An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REENACTING <br />THE DISTRICT MAP INCORPORATED IN SECTION 31-4 OF THE ZONING <br />ORDINANCE OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976 BY <br />THE REZONING 'OF A PARCEL OF LAND AT THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF <br />llTH STREET, N.E. AND EAST JEFFERSON STREET IN THE CITY OF <br />CHARLOTTESVILLE," which was offered at the meeting of the Council <br />on April 17, 1978, was adopted by the following recorded vote. <br />Ayes: Mr.. Barbour, Mr. Brunton, Mr. Fife, Mr. Gatewood and <br />Mrs. O'Brien. Noes: None. <br /> <br /> The Mayor stated that the State Corporation Commission has <br />requested ICC to hold a public hearing on the proposed <br />elimination of ~he Southern Crescent". She stated that the <br />hearing has been set for May 19th and will be held in Charlottes- <br />ville. On motion by Mr. Brunton, seconded by Mr. Fife the <br />following resolution was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville that the Interstate Commerce Commission is <br />respectfully requested to postpone the discontinuance of Train's <br />1 and 2, "The Southern Crescents" by the Southern Railway <br />Company and the Alabama Great Southern Railway Company until <br />such time as Amtrak assumes the operation of eq.uivalent <br />passenger train service without any interruption in service <br />to and from Charlottesville. <br /> <br /> The Mayor also announced that the Air Pollution Control <br /> <br />Board would hold a public hearing on the impact of the air <br />quality by the proposed mall in Albemarle County and had set <br />the southern boundary as Greenbrier Drive. She requested that <br />Council go on record requesting the Air Pollution Control <br />Board to extend the southern boundary of the impact area to <br />Hydraulic Road. A motion by Mr. Fife, seconded by Mrs. O'Brien <br />that the Air Pollution Control Board be requested to extend the <br />southern boundary of the impact area to Hydraulic Road was <br />defeated by the following recorded vote. Ayes~: Mr. Fife and <br /> <br />Mrs. O'Brien. Noes: Mr, Barbour, Mr. BrUnton, and Mr~ Gatewood. <br /> <br /> A motion by Mr. Fife, seconded by Mr. Brunton that Council <br /> <br />meet in executive session to discuss a matter exempted by <br />Section 2.1-344(a)(!) and Section 2.1-344(a)(2) of the Virginia <br />Freedom of Information Act, was adopted by the following recorded <br />vote.
