4!8, <br /> <br />Consideration re: Rezoning <br />property located at the <br />rear of 1503 River Road <br />from R-3 to M-1 <br /> <br /> A communication was also presented from the Planning <br />Commission recommending approval of a petition to rezone from <br />R-3 to M-1 property located at the rear of 1503 River Road <br />for the following reasons: 1. The rezoning would not have <br />any significant adverse impact on the surrounding neighbor- <br />hood; 2. It would allow for a more appropriate use for <br />the property as it relates to River Road; 3. The property <br />is topographically separated from the adjacent residential <br />areas; and 4. The rezoning provides an opportunity for much <br />needed industrial development in order to help economic <br />development in this area of the City. An ordinance <br />entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REENACTING THE DISTRICT <br />MAP INCORPORATED IN SECTION 31-4 OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF <br />THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, BY THE <br />REZONING OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT THE REAR OF 1503 RIVER <br />ROAD, (INTERSECTION OF UNOPENED SMITH STREET AND COLEMAN <br />STREET) IN THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE," was offered by Mrs. <br />O'Brien, seconded by Mr. Buck and carried over to the next <br /> <br />Consideration re: Amending <br />the zoning ordinance with <br />regard to animal shelters <br />& hospitals in certain <br />business and industrial <br /> <br />zones <br /> <br />Consideration re: Amending <br />the zoning ordinance with <br />regard to signs <br /> <br />Executive Session <br /> <br />meeting for consideration. <br /> An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDAIN <br />SECTIONS 31-79, 31-86, 31-92, 31-93, 31-100, 31-107, AND <br />31-113 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, <br />AS AMENDED, AND FURTHER TO AMEND SUCH CODE BY ADDING SECTION <br />31-208.1 RELATING TO THE LOCATION OF ANIMAL SHELTERS AND <br />ANIMAL HOSPITALS IN CERTAIN BUSINESS AND INDUSTRIAL ZONES'," <br />was offered by Mrs. O'Brien, seconded by Mr. Gatewood and <br />carried over to the next meeting fOr consideration. <br /> An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO Ab~ND AND <br /> REORDAIN SECTION 31'170 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br /> CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO MAXIMUM <br /> SIGN AREAS ALLOWED UNDER THE CITY ZONING ORDINANCE," was <br /> offered by Mr. Buck,seconded by Mr. Gatewood and carried <br /> over to the next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br /> A motion by Mrs. O'Brien, seconded by Mr. Gatewood that <br /> Council meet in executive session to discuss matters <br /> exempted by Section 2.1-344(a)i(1) and Section 2.1-344(a)(2) <br /> of the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, was adopted by <br /> the following recorded vote.
