Consideration re: Appropriation Airport Taxiway Project Resolution re: Raffle Permit - St. Anne'~s- Belfield School Resolution re: Raffle Permit Thomas Jefferson Lions Club 459 The City Manager advised the Council that the cost of construction of the south parallel taxiway at the Airport has increased considerably over the first estimate when the first appropriation was made last spring. He stated that the original appropriation was $14,625 'and the amount required for the local share has been increased to $59,808. He stated that the total project is approximately 1.2 million dollars. He stated that the reason for this difference is poor estimates on the part of the engineers and escalation in cost of construction. He stated that the Airport Board still feels that this is a necessary project for the Airport and as a member of the board he would recommend acceptance of the bid. On motion by Mr. Buck, seconded by Mr. Albro the following resolution was offered and carried over to the next meeting for consideration. BE IT RESOLVED by.the~Council of the City of Charlottesville that the sum of $51,163.80 is hereby appropriated from the unappropriated balance of the Capital Projects Fund to expenditure account 05-00510 for the City's share of the cost of ADAP Project No. 6-5-0004-07' for construction of a parallel taxiway at the Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport. On motion by Mrs. O'Brien, seconded by Mr. Gatewood the following resolution was unanimously adopted. WHEREAS, St. Anne's-Belfield School has duly applied for a permit to conduct a raffle in compliance with ~17-19 of the Code of the City of Charlottesville, 1976, as amended; and WHEREAS, it has been determined that St. Anne's- Belfield School meets the qualifications as outlined in §17-19; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that a permit be granted to St. Anne's-Belfield School to conduct a raffle zn accordance with all the provisions of §17-19 of the Code of the City of Charlottesville for a period beginning November 21, 1978 and ending December 31, 1978; and B~.IT FURTHER RESOLVED t~at the Clerk of the Council be directed to send a copy of this resolution to the President, Junior Class, St. Anne's-Belfield School. On motion by Mrs. O'Brien, seconded by Mr. Gatewood the following resolution was unanimously adopted. WHEREAS, the Thomas Jefferson Lions Club has duly applied for a permit to conduct a~raffle in compliance with §17-19 of the Code of the City of Charlottesville, 1976, as amended; and WHEREAS, it has been determined that the Thomas Jefferson Lions Club meets the qualifications as outlined in §17-19; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that a permit be granted to the Thomas Jefferson Lions Club to conduct a raffle in accordance with all the provisions of §~7-19 of the Code of the City of Charlottesville beginning November 20, 1978 and ending December 31, 1978; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Council be directed to send a copy of this resolution to the President of the Thomas Jefferson Lions Club.
