(3) Such special permit shall be conditioned <br />upon development of the property in accordance <br />with the site plan submitted with the special <br />application, as modified and finally approved <br />by the Planning Commission or Director of <br />Planning, as She case may be. <br /> <br />Resolution re: Approving On motion by Mr. Gatewood, seconded by Mr. Albro the <br />changes to City's Affirmative <br />Action Plan following resolution was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> kRIEREAS, this Council has previously approved a <br /> written statement of the official policy of the City of <br /> Charlottesville regarding equal employment opportunity <br /> and affirmative action designed to insure such equality; <br /> and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Manager has presented to this <br /> Council a draft of a revision of such statement including <br /> handicapped_persons among those groups who will have the <br /> benefit of such policy; now, therefore, be it <br /> <br />Ordinance re: Closing, <br />vacating & discontinuing <br />unopened Oak Ridge Ave. <br /> <br /> RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottes- <br />ville that such amended statement is hereby adopted as the <br />official policy of the City, and that a copy thereof be <br />spread upon the minutes of this meeting. ~J~ <br /> <br />An ordinance entitled"AN ORDINANCE CLOSING, VACATING <br /> <br />AND DISCONTINUING UNOPENED OAK RIDGE AVENUE IN THE CITY <br /> <br />OF CHARLOTTESVILLE," which was offered at the meeting of <br /> <br />the Council on January 2, 1979, was adopted by the following <br /> <br />recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. Albro, Mr. Brunton, Mr. Buck, <br /> <br />Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien. Noes: None. <br /> <br />Closing, vacating & <br />discomtinuing a portion <br />of unopened Hedge Street -- <br />DENIED <br /> <br /> The petition to close a portion of unopened Hedge <br />Street was again considered. Mr. Robert Mussleman on <br />behalf of the petitioner again spoke in favor of the <br /> <br />closing. Mr. Mitchell Van Yahres on behalf of the residents <br />of Third Street, Park Plaza and Hedge Street addressed <br /> <br />the Council in opposition to the closing. A motion <br /> <br />by Mr. Gatewood, seconded by Mrs. O'Brien that the <br /> <br />request be denied, was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br />Consideration re: <br />Ordinance - An ordinance <br />amending the zoning~ <br />ordinance relating to <br />setbacks for radio & <br />TV transmission towers <br /> <br /> A communication was presented from the Planning <br />Commission recommending that the ordinance amending <br />Sections 31-16, 31-23, 31-32 and 31-81 relating to <br />setback requirements for transmission towers not be <br /> <br />adopted. Mr. Buck stated that due to a conflict of <br /> <br />interest he would refrain from discussion or voting on <br /> <br />this matter. Mr. Albro stated that he thought it would <br /> <br />be inappropriate to reduce the setback requirements for <br /> <br />radio towers in R-1 and R-2 residential districts, but <br />did not feel that was the case in R-3 or B-1 districts. <br /> <br />An amended ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO ~fEND <br /> <br />AND REORDAIN SECTION 31-32 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br /> <br />CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO SETBACKS <br /> <br />FOR TRANSMISSIONs-TOWERS FOR RADIO, TELEVISION, TELEPHONE <br /> <br />OR ELECTRICAL TRANSMISSIONS," was offered by Mr. Albro, <br /> <br />seconded by Mrs. O'Brien and carried over to the next <br /> <br />meeting for consideration. <br /> <br /> <br />
