BOWEN RECOMMEND- <br />ED A RATE OF 67~ PER THOUSAND CUBIC FEET UNDER A FIVE YEAR CONTRACT COMMENCING <br />JULY 1~ 1969. <br /> <br /> ON MOTION BY MR, RINEHART~ SECONDED BY MR. JOINT JAIL <br /> <br /> THE JOINT JAIL COMMITTEE AT A MEETING HELD ON THIS DATE AGREED TO <br />RECOMMEND TO THE CITY COUNCIL AND THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS THAT THE <br />CiTY AND COUNTY PROCEED WITH THE NECESSARY STEPS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION <br />OF A CHARLOTTESVILLE-ALBEMARLE JOINT JAIL. <br /> <br />THE COMMITTEE RECOMMENDS THAT THE COSTS OF THE NEW FACILITY BE <br />SHARED AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />COST OF LAND TO BE ON A 50-50 BASIS (THE COUNTY LAND <br />WHICH IS TO BE USED WILL BE APPRAISED AND THE VALUE <br />AGREED TO BY THE COMMITTEE) <br /> <br />COST OF THE PORTION OF THE BUILDING HOUSING. THE CELLS~ <br />AND THE CELLS~ TO BE SHARED ON THE NUMBER OF CELLS <br />RECOMMENDED BY THE STATE FOR EACH POLITICAL SUBDIVISION. <br />OTHER PARTS OF THE BUILDING TO BE ON A 50-50 BASIS. <br />THE CITYIS AND THE COUNTYtS SHARE OF THE COST OF THE <br />BUILDING BASED ON THE FOREGOING FORMULA ~S TO BE ESTIMATED <br />BY THE ARCHITECT AND AGREED TO BY THE JOINT COMMITTEE. <br /> <br />Se <br /> <br />THE COMMITTEE RECOMMENDS THAT THE SITE OF THE JOINT JAIL <br />BE ON 4TH STREET~ N.
