260 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS~ THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS WAS CALLED UPON TO MOVE A <br />DILAPIDATED HOUSE FROM ITS ORIGINAL POSITION IN CHARLOTTESVILLE TO THE BARRACKS <br />ROAD SHOPPING CENTER$ AND <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RE: <br />MOVING HOUSE TO <br />SHOPPING CENTER <br /> <br /> WHEREAS~ THE REMOVAL OF THIS HOUSE REQUIRED THAT THE HOUSE BE CUT IN <br />HALF~ LOADED ON A TRANSPORT VEHlCLE~ MOVED THROUGH THE STREETS AND REASSEMBLED <br />AT THE SHOPPING CENTER$ AND <br /> <br /> WHEREAS~ PERSONNEL OF THE PUBLIC SERVICE DIVISION~ THE INSPECTION <br />DIVISION AND THE ~JILDING MAINTENANCE DIVISION OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC <br />WORKS DISPLAYED GREAT INGENUITY AND TECHNICAL SKILL BEYOND THAT EXPECTED OF <br />PERSONNEL IN THEIR POSITION WHICH PRODUCED SUCCESSFUL ACCOMPLISHMENT OF THIS <br />TASK WITHOUT INCIDENT° <br /> <br /> NOW~ THEREFORE~ BE tT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTES- <br />VILLE THAT THE COUNCIL HEREBY COMMENDS THE PERSONNEL OF THE PUBLIC SERVICE DIVISION~ <br />THE INSPECTION DIVISION AND THE ~JILDING MAINTENANCE DIVISION OF THE PUBLIC WORKS <br />DEPARTMENT FOR THEIR DEMONSTRATED PROFICIENCY IN PERFORMING THIS TASK, <br /> ON MOTION BY MR. BARBOUR~ MR. FIFE~ MR. GILLIAM~ MRS. RINEHART AND MR. VAN YAHRES. ABSENT: NONE. <br /> REV. CARROLL GOODRIDGE~ PASTOR OF ALDERSGATE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH~ GAVE THE <br /> <br />INVOCATION. <br /> <br /> THE MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF AUGUST 7~ 1972 WERE APPROVED AS PRESENTED. <br /> A PETITION WAS PRESENTED FROM CHARLOTTESVILLE OIL HAULING COMPANY REQUESTING THE VAC'ATING~ <br />CLOSING AND DISCONTINUANCE OF CERTAIN STREETS AND ADJOINING TRAFFIC ISLAND ON OLD VIRGINIA <br />ROUTE 20 AND MONTICELLO ROAD. ON MOTION BY MR. GILLIAM~ SECONDED BY MR. BARBOUR~ THE <br /> <br />FOLLOWING RESOLUTION WAS UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED: <br /> WHEREAS~ CHARLOTTESVILLE OIL HAULING CO.~ INC.~ HAS GIVEN DUE AND PROPER <br />NOTICE~ IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE STATUTES FOR SUCH CASES MADE AND PRO.VIDED~ THAT IT <br />WOULD ON THIS DAY APPLY TO THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE~ VIRGINIA~ <br />FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF VIEWERS TO VIEW THE BELOW DESCRIBED PROPERTY AND REPORT IN <br />-WRITING TO THE COUNCIL WHETHER~ IN THE OPINION OF SAID VIEWERS~ ANY~ AND IF ANY~ <br />WHAT INCONVENIENCE WOULD RESULT FROM THE DISCONTINUING OF THE HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED <br />STREET IN THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE~ VIRGINIA~ AND HAVE FILED SUCH APPLICATION <br />WITH THE SAJ, D COUNCIL. <br /> NOW~ THEREFORE~ BE IT C~DAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE~ <br /> VIRGINIA: <br /> THAT WILTON Ao HEAD~ EDWIN L; TURNER AND J.
