Minutes of April 7 <br /> <br />APPPROPRIATION <br />b. : $35,342 - Temporary Assistance to Needy Families <br />nd <br /> (TANF) Grant (2 reading) <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED <br /> by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, that <br />$35,342 from the State Department of Social Services (passing through federal funds) be <br />appropriated to 12 - 161 - 062262 - 53199 in the Social Service Fund for the purpose of <br />continuing funding for employment assistance through June 30, 2003. <br /> <br />nd <br />APPROPRIATION <br />c. : $1,300 - Reimbursement for Tree Damage (2 reading) <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED <br /> that $1,300 received by the City of Charlottesville from the <br />Virginia Farm Bureau be appropriat ed from account 51 - 111 - 151010 - 46211 to account <br />26 - 173 - 073156 - 52199 in the capital fund for replacement of a damaged tree. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION <br />d. : $1,000 - Foundation Grant for "Many Races, One <br /> Community" Event" <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED <br /> by the Council for the C ity of Charlottesville, Virginia, that <br /> <br />this Council hereby appropriates $1,000.00, received as a donation from the <br />Charlottesville - Albemarle Community Foundation, to account code 05 - 010 - 031011 - <br />50111 for the purpose of supporting an event (“Many Races – One Community”) to <br />foster better racial and ethnic relations in the community. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION <br />e. : $27,692.86 - Circuit Court Technology Services <br /> Reimbursement (carried over) <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION <br />f. : $1,520,000 - Court Square Project Grant (carried over <br /> <br />AP PROPRIATION <br />g. : $20,000 - Foster Care Program Donation (carried over) <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION <br />h. : $3,500 - Albemarle County Contribution for Lewis & Clark <br /> (carried over) <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION <br />i. : $121,404 - Albemarle County Contribution for Fire <br /> Services (carried over) <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION <br />j. : Reprogramming of CDBG Funds (carried over) <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br />k. : Appointing City Manager as Director of Emergency <br /> Management <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br /> , Virginia Code § 44 - 146.19 requires every political <br />subdivision in the state to have a Director of Em ergency Management; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br /> , City Council wants to insure that there are clear lines of <br />authority, command and responsibility in the event of a natural or man - made <br />disaster that may adversely affect the City of Charlottesville; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br /> , the 1 998 Emergency Operations Plan for this area designates <br />the Charlottesville City Manager as the City’s Director of Emergency Services and <br />Kaye Harden of the Emergency Communications Center as the Coordinator of <br />Emergency Services; <br /> <br />
