NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING <br /> <br />A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CHARLOTTESVILLE CITY COUNCIL WILL BE <br />HELD ON Monday, June 21, 2004 AT 6:00 p.m. IN THE Second Floor Conference <br />Room. <br /> <br />THE PROPOSED AGENDA IS AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Closed session as provided by Section 2.2 - 3172 of the Virginia Code <br /> <br />BY ORDER OF THE MAYOR BY Jeanne Cox <br /> <br />SECOND FLOOR CONFERENCE ROOM - June 21, 2004 <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Schilling, seconded by Mr. Lynch, Council voted (Ayes: Mr. <br />Caravati, Mr. Cox, Mr. Lynch, Mr. Schilling. Noes: None. Absent for the vote: Ms. <br />Richards) to meet in closed session for discussion, consideration and interviews of <br />prospective candidates for appointment to the City boards and commissions, as <br />authorized by Section 2.2 - 3711(A)(1) of the Virginia Code; for discussion and <br />th <br />c onsideration of the acquisition of real properties located at 7 and Market Streets, at <br />Park and High Streets, and at 610 and 614 High Street for a public purpose, where <br />discussion in an open meeting would adversely affect the negotiating strategy of the City, <br />as authorized by Section 2.2 - 3711(A)(3) of the Virginia Code; and for discussion and <br />consideration of the disposition of publicly held real property located at Riverview Park, <br />th <br />at 5 and Berring Street, on Holmes Avenue (2 properties), and on Ridge S treet near the <br />intersection with Cherry Avenue, where discussion in an open meeting would adversely <br />affect the negotiating strategy of the City, as authorized by Section 2.2 - 3711(A)(3) of the <br />Virginia Code. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Schilling, seconded by Mr. Lyn ch, Council certified by the <br />following vote (Ayes: Mr. Cox, Mr. Lynch, Ms. Richards, Mr. Schilling. Noes: None. <br />Absent for the vote: Mr. Caravati) that to the best of each Council Member's knowledge, <br />only public business matters lawfully exempted from the open meeting requirements of <br />the Virginia Freedom of Information Act and identified in the motion convening the <br />closed session were heard, discussed or considered in the closed session. <br /> <br />PUBLIC <br /> <br /> Mr. Jock Yellott, 311 E. Market St. # 4, said that Sat yendra Huja has been an <br />exemplary employee. He said that once again the County Sheriff has tried to usurp <br />parking around Court Square. He said he submitted a proposed parking ordinance to staff <br />but has had no luck getting a staff report. He said the ord inance deals with notice of <br />permanent parking changes. He asked that Council take up the issue during other <br />business. <br /> <br />
