E, <br />CHARLOTTESVILLE~ VIRGINIA <br /> <br />DEAR MAYOR RENNOLDS: <br /> <br />THE FOLLOWING ACTION WAS TAKEN 'AT THE NOVEMBER 23 MEETING OF THE CHARLOTTES- <br />VILLE-ALBEMARLE MINISTERIAL ASSOCIATION: <br /> <br />'~BE IT MOVED THAT THE SECRETARY BE INSTRUCTED TO WRITE THE <br />MAYOR OF CHARLOTTESVILLE THAT THE CHARLOTTESVILLE-ALBEMARLE <br />MINISTERI'AL ASSOCIATION FINDS ITSELF WITH A MAJOR DIVISION <br />OF OPINION AS TO WHETHER OR NOT IT IS APPROPRIATE FOR THE <br />CLERGYMEN TO SAY A PRAYER OF INVOCATION AT THE CITY COUNCIL <br />MEETINGS AND THAT THE ASSOCIATION tS UNABLE TO COHE TO A <br />RESOLUTION IN THE HATTER AND THIS WITH REGRETS. ELLIS ON THIS MATTER. <br /> <br /> A COMMUNICATION WAS PRESENTED FROM THE STATE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT REQUESTING <br />THAT THE CITY COMMIT ITSELF TO IMPROVING ROUTE 631 ALONG 5TH STREET AND/OR RIDGE <br />STREET FROM THE SOUTH CORPORATE LIMITS TO CHERRY AVENUE TO A FOUR LANE FACILITY <br />WITHIN FIVE YEARS AFTER COMPLETION OF THE J-64 INTERCHANGE. ON MOTION BY MR. <br />MOUNT~ SECONDED BY MR, JOHNSON~ THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION WAS UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED: <br /> <br /> WHEREAS THE CITY MANAGER HAS BEEN ADVISED BY THE STATE URBAN ENGINEER <br />THAT THE BUREAU Of PUBLIC ROADS HAS GIVEN APPROVAL TO AN INTERCHANGE ON ROUTE 1-64 <br />AND STATE ROUTE 631 JUST SOUTH OF THE CiTY LIMITS SUBJECT TO A COMMITMENT FROM <br />THE CITY THAT ROUTE 631 ALONG 5TH AND/OR RIDGE STREETS FROM THE SOUTH CORPORATE <br /> <br /> <br />
